Not exactly a shocker there, EV take up is only really picking up now (and only because of the changes to company car tax rates). People don’t just change their cars at a whim.
My public sector workplace has 10 pool cars (we have 5 campuses up to 50 miles apart), 3 hydrogen Mirai’s, 5 i3’s and 2 Corolla PHEVS.
We’ve had EV’s since 2010 with 6 Honda Insights, 2 of which we still use, the rest are in our workshops being used to train EV mechanics (along with a hydrogen powered bus).
We tried to get electric mini-buses but hit a problem with weight and loading – basically our requirement for a wheelchair accessible vehicle made electric not possible at the time we were leasing, so we’ll have to try again in 4 years when the leases are up.
