I think the current balance Motability have is not far from what is required, I don’t personally feel more models would give more bargaining power but less, as the fleet would be diluted over a greater range. I do feel however that although sometimes what seems to be a huge choice is in fact very small for specific needs, so perhaps negotiating a specific number of varied size and shape vehicles would be a better approach. An example is for my needs we currently have a choice of two or in fact the same vehicle under two badges, this would have been sorted if there had been a range of twin cabs or pickup vehicles. I also feel that bloating the list with a huge range of specs, seems a fairly pointless exercise, I personally require a high spec vehicle as need facilities in the passenger seats that are hard to find in most makes and on lower spec vehicles, a position  many disabled, particularly non drivers find themselves in. If I was in a position to change the system then I would supply the vehicles directly to the client as the biggest let down in the Motability chain for me has always been  the showroom dealer experience, but that’s probably another thread.
