The dealer should run through a check list before collection including if the car is suitable. This can’t be done on ordering in most instances as dealers don’t stock all models and variants. In many cases we have to rely on the motability salesman or doing our own research. Plus seats designs and sizes can change on the time a car is built so yes check it’s suitable for you in every way. If it’s not reject the car and don’t enter your PIN number. your costing motability nothing as they get such massive discounts on all cars. But most dealers will simply sell it on as a stock car.
Got a real feeling of pre-buyers remorse at the moment (if there is such a thing). Apart from the feeling that I have selected the wrong manufacturer/model/body style/drive/colour, I’m really looking forward to my personal preview of the car! I’m sure others must have felt the same when taking delivery.
As a 1st time impatient Motability customer I’ve not done enough research but have been hampered by needing a car asap so had to go for stock and not factory order. The choice of stock at a few different dealerships ie Ford, VW, Skoda was really very poor.
I may want out of this deal and just bide my time for a factory order.
What sort of black mark would that be against me?
