Yep big dave it sure is another big part that the benefit is not keeping up with the real rate of inflation. Another stats scam to make the masses have less and less disposable income overtime. That effects us all..
So we remain slaves to debt they takeout in our name as soon as we born. What Motability can do about that situation is very little imo.
Just like bottles of pop are getting smaller or chocolate bars are tiny now but the price remains the same it hides the rate of inflation till it hits hard. It is one of the reason i believe covid is being used to justify free money as the end game is coming soon… nothing got better since 2008, All these forced closures of the economy can only be a bad thing. How long will the free money etc and benefit’s be sustainable until they the goverment are bankrupt. The councils are bankrupt and the help stops. Each day the debt rises globally.
Although Motability are giving out more grants it seems and personally i’ve never asked for one to help me. I am on a low income. Maybe with my next car i will have to to get an auto if Ap rise higher and higher.. it all depends whats on then in another 3 years. I do believe though nothing last forever and all good things come to an end at some point. If only we could predict the future but we cannot.
I still feel lucky and the 182 bhp civic i just got a few months ago is fast enough for me, but even that car is not currently on the scheme. Not one cvt civic is either.. So thats another issue other than the cap and i do need an automatic car to drive.
As for under 25’s it’s a tough one and there was another thread about that but it is what it is and at least you can get a car but there very little in the way of automatics and again it comes down to insurance costs.
It’s not just the price of the car that is part of the costs to consider. Thats what makes the scheme a good choice if it suits your needs. Eveything but fuel is included.
But right now bigger cars or more luxury trim cars seem to be way higher in ap than ever before and i could not afford the Ap on some of them without some assistance. Right now i can put £750 towards the ap plus the gcb. Which must have a comfortable seat for my busted back.
