Hi Everyone,
Just thought I would update you all since my last update a week ago.
Last Friday, Western Power came to inspect the meter box and main fuse.
Yesterday (Monday), they confirmed that they were happy to allow an electric charger to be fitted and that I can call them up to make a payment before they book me in to have a Double Pole Mains Isolation Switch fitted (BP Chargemaster require this before they can fit the charger as I have no spare sockets on my fuse board).
I called Western Power immediately with my credit card in hand. Unfortunately, it has cost me £218.02, which some have said it may be free, which I was hoping for.
Western Power called me this morning to confirm they have received payment (different department to who I called to make payment), and have booked me in for next Wednesday, 26th August, in the morning.
I then called BP Chargemaster and after a few hours waiting for a callback (grrr), they have now provisionally booked me in for Wednesday 9th September to have the charger installed.
When the switch is installed on the 26th August, I need to send them a photo of the meter box again with the switch fitted.
They may then be able to bring forward the installation if it is possible, but for the time being, it’s the 9th September.
Fingers crossed for no more problems 🙁 🙂
