+1 on calling Roger – nice bloke and good to talk to and while he’ll reply to emails etc it seems he much prefers talking on the phone from my personal experience. I didn’t go with him in the end as I found a lesser deal nearer to home with Lookers VW Newcastle (instead of £600 I got £250 off) but it saved me 2x 200mile round trips which, between my health and the cost of the diesel made sense to me – I figured i’d spend the best part of £150 on fuel alone and I was willing to forgo the other £200 for my time and convenience.
I think I saw someone say Lookers had matched the £600 for them which, if true, kinda sucks for me lol but its definitely worth asking. I have no complaint though – I asked them to do £250 after doing my own sums and they agreed. Asking won’t always work though, Mill VW in Sunderland who are even nearer to me than Newcastle point-blank refused to even discuss any money off. I found that VERY annoying as they had a Tiguan in the middle of the showroom with Motability stickers all over it, and right in the middle of the bonnet there was a Never beaten on price/Price match promise sticker but the guy said “that doesn’t apply to motability” – he didn’t seem too pleased when I told him he needed to take the price promise sticker OFF of the car which was covered in Motability stickers if that was the case.
