this is why you cannot complain to PSA groupWindy
ParticipantJust to confirm Motability involved from start of issues not sure how effective that is now maybe it’s time to leave scheme
Windy
ParticipantHi just to confirm RAC came out and as it was brand new felt apart from taking mileage really shouldn’t be involved. So let’s be honest this is reaction as for dealer I would agree apart from supplying dealer being 120 miles from dealer trying to help do it’s difficult.

ParticipantUpdate it’s on its way back will need suspension later but safe so good news
Windy
ParticipantNeeds checking we had our unlooping and fuse for free they even said for a charger or ground source heating it would be free
Windy
ParticipantWe had a Vivaro on order for 6 months it was ridiculous how uninterested Vauxhall were, we were fortunate and found an alternative as the Vivaro still probably wouldn’t arrive this year. That said be careful and make sure cancelling doesn’t just put you at the back of a similar queue. I found an unregistered vehicle at port but to be honest few and far between Kia Hyundai and MG have vehicles at port but many will just add you to the order list just like Vauxhall
Windy
ParticipantWe were unlooped by Western Power very quickly about 3 weeks from asking very neat too lots of people involved but extremely efficient
Windy
ParticipantStuart I can honestly say we are certainly not put off EV in fact if we can we would never drive another ice as we probably could not have afforded to test the Peugeot so thoroughly had it been an Ice vehicle. No we are 100% ev converted
Windy
Participantfile 28 it seems most NT in Wales have the free charging We will tackle a trip to Rhyl in the next couple of weeks with dogs probably have to pick up a little charge in Holywell but old mate from RAF lives there so should be good trip just on Our range limit return trip

ParticipantYes we have all the apps but not so sure they are that good for example we are going from North Shropshire to Devon long way but Zap map will not offer the alternative route down toward Gloucester Chepstow and across Severn Bridge, which is fine but with dogs and a flowered vehicle M5 not that suitable do the only way I could force Zap map was to give it a stop off in Coleford but even then it but me onto M5 and M50 not the route through Shrewsbury Leominster etc so I wonder if it’s focus is on speed inclusive of charge I have tried a few routes and for me have resorted to map and pen I don’t see the point in taking my vehicle at flat out down the motorway it’s better doing an eco route with less stops
Windy
ParticipantBrilliant so glad you are happy too.
I don’t think we can get much free as would mean travelling to get it so no sense really home charge is 5.5p and we started overpaying a few months ago do hopefully all covered for a year.
wd are going away in December way out of range but reckon if we combine Lidl and Tesco will be easier than all the motorway maps especially as we have 4 large dogs
so glad you love EV

ParticipantI think this will inevitably be reviewed as this is a poor attempt on a traditional car manufacturer to stake their claim on the future of EV, we must remember we should all be driving EV today it was far more progressive until someone discovered what to do with the waste element of oil in the late 19th early 20th century.
personally I feel battery technology has a 100 years of pent up rejection, which it is now free to pursue. There is no doubt cost will plummet and to try and keep the traditional used car residual will be a fools errand, supported only by finance and the profit from percentage rates remember all traditional manufacturers are finance companies. I think we needs new approach and I hope for it. That here will be many New EV manufacturers who will not have the historic shackles of the ICE manufacturers and will be able to produce personal transport (let’s not even call them cars) that will be appropriate to our needs, where the most important thing is Not top speed bhp or 0 to 60, we are lost in the norm of car ownership. I have an EV where the filler cap for diesel is still there, the place where add blu was put in is still there, the handbrake is a tiny button where the lever used to be, the clocks are still in the old speedo Rev counter configuration WHY not of it makes any sense, forget car manufacturers we now need EV manufacturers this is the time for change, I am so excited I didn’t think it would happen in my lifetime I want a pointy thing with full wing sliding doors and a yoke for a steering wheel. ( must take wheelchair and 4 large dogs)Windy
ParticipantI must make it clear as I often do I am full time carer driver gopher of my disabled wife who has MS and now spinal problems. So getting out has been a real issue and we can now just go out for a drive, the vehicle is now big enough for her proper chair but just being out is a positive, we are still nervous of crowds and she is not keen on tackling any area where she feels vulnerable so we are rural country folk and don’t like shopping much. So driving is nice but fast became unaffordable on a fixed income, we realised how many places we used to visit regularly, have not been visited for years and not because of COVID.
we had a day off today as she was very tired due to the new travel and I cleaned the monster EV just wish I was 6 inches taller. But it looks like new again.Windy
ParticipantSue we were told we couldn’t have one as we don’t have driveway either but we got one fitted at the end of the communal grass area
Windy
ParticipantSpeedy James I am not the disabled one but it’s so high I keep falling out of the door I am only 5’6 and haven’t mastered the step yet lol
Windy
ParticipantWorth noting we had our smart meter fitted in the early days maybe 7 years ago, never worked and moved supplier still nothing I never understood the point as it really never worked had to constantly give readings.
now OctopusEnergy make it work no problem at allWindy
ParticipantTrouble is the things being removed is like the want list for your average disabled driver
Windy
ParticipantTo be honest mine which isn’t a Volvo let’s me schedule start but not finish.
when I got charger fitted guy said use car scheduling as preference but I am using charger scheduling otherwise it will always go over cheap period
makes no sense to me yet
Windy
ParticipantAbsolutely good catch if you can find one
Windy
ParticipantYou can have lounge seating and central table but sadly must be factory order and of course this was not an order. Maybe next time
got up this morning it has 140 miles life and cost £1.92 so a good start to the day
Windy
ParticipantWell all thanks to this site or would still be waiting for the Vauxhall version

ParticipantOscarmax I am North Shropshire so not that far from you really but it affects tariff rates
Windy
ParticipantI’ll update this as just moved to go faster so an extra hour at 5.5p should give me a good boost daily
