Just had an agreement from Westmorland council to install a cable gulley
My Sportage didn’t come with a domestic 3 pin charger and the Kia dealer quoted me £240 for one
If you ask the salesman nicely and explain why the account holder can’t be there (heath conditions etc) they might be accommodating

On a similar subject, I was given a Kia assist card when I picked up my new Sportage, to be used in the event of a breakdown. Do you know if I should use this or the RAC card if needed?
Had an XC40 for over 4 years now and done 70,000 miles. I get 42-45mpg on a mix of motorway/A-roads and 35mpg with a mix of town and A-road driving. Never had any problems with it but the audio system interface is pretty dire (I don’t have apple carplay though). If I want to listen to an an artist at the back end of the alphabet, I have to scroll though pages and pages! I can’t just jump to those beginning with X for example. Was waiting to see what the latest motability price list looked like as we need to make a decision soon (on a 5 year lease) an ddid have the Sportage PHEV, Enyaq and XC40 on the shortlist. I was also worried though that the Sportage mpg was quite poor when running mostly on petrol as it was AWD. But it’s been removed now and I think it will be another Volvo that we get. It has all the toys we need although I think electric passenger seat adjustment has been dropped on these models which would have been a nice to have.
Hi Paul-I think the Sportage 4wd is still available. It’s only the GT S-Line whic has been removed (which I’m glad I ordered last quarter)

Hi Micky-I’m awaiting delivery of a Sportage gt S Line PHEV-I’m not sure if yours is the PHEV, but if it is does it come with a 3 pin charger (domestic 13 amp plug type)?
Mine came with a 1oA granny charger however, Glos Guy was told it didn’t by his dealer but, would include one. fwiw You can pick them up on Ebay for around £50 We have the facelifted Tucson though but, expect Kia closely follow Hyundai anyway.
Thanks Kezo-I need to arrange a gutter cable thingy now 🙂
Thanks Phaedra-much appreciated

June 19, 2024 at 9:47 pm in reply to: Electricity tariffs and setting up of EV home charging procedures #282448I’m assuming I’d need a Smartmeter installed to take advantage of the Octopus cheaper tariffs?
Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated
Hi, can I ask what a non-standard installation is? I’m about to get my house rewired and they asked if I wanted to include the wiring for an EV (not the charger)
at a cost of £150. Not sure if this would be included in the standard charger installation?

I’d love one – but alas I need an AWD non-electric vehicle
I’m waiting for the new Tiguan to come out, I have the previous gen. Love it. Hopefully it will come back on the scheme. They’re definitely milking the release date though, was told should be in showrooms early March its now middle of march and no sign of it, they opened the order books months ago, I’m sure the people that’s pre ordered them want the 24 plates ASAP.
Same here-just hope an AWD is available too
Thanks Falcon.
The Ignis, Vitara and S-Cross are all within my price range and I’ll visit a showroom to see what they’re like. I shouldn’t discount them just because of my past perceptions of the brand.
Cheers
Thanks Scott-I didn’t know there was additional filters for AWD etc.
Cheers
Totally agree Mick-It’s misleading and sometimes worded as though it’s the dealing giving the discount or cashback.
Or get a honda ZR-V hybrid advance with similar spec for half of the AP!!
Is it AWD though?
Cheers for the advice chaps
