Question is will you be forced to buy metallic paint as well, they were always against you ordering flat paint. According to my VW dealer you had to ask permission from motability to spec flat colours which is why they included metallics.

Fingers crossed the hybrid makes an appearance. Joined an XC40 forum and reading through the posts on there is quite interesting, a guy with a T5 is averaging 32mpg with highs of 38, he also posted a screen shot from the onboard computer, considering what people have been saying about the T4 on here that sounds brilliant.

Yes those are my thoughts, my Tiggy is 2 years old and i’ve covered 9k so MPG is not really important to me. I have around 9 months left before i can start looking and re order but if it’s still on the scheme then it’s the car i’ll be ordering for sure.

I was considering the T4 next how come it`s so bad thats the same MPG as a rolls Royce ghost for gods sake. Surely there must be something wrong there.

It has nothing to do with changing my driving ideas, today i can fill my car up with fuel and achieve 550 miles without any range anxiety whatsoever. I can drive where i want when i want and know if i need to re fuel i can do at anytime and in less than 10 mins and complete another 550 miles. I have never owned an EV but have read numerous real world tests and not one of those was really positive apart from the fuel cost obviously. Not knocking EV and like i said i would jump in one tomorrow if the range was there, point i was trying to make is they will never replace combustion engines like they want to until the ranges increase. I regularly do journeys over 200 miles and can do that without stopping, yes i know it`s not at 1p a mile but like most people i will take that as a trade off for usability and convenience all day long, just my opinion. However if i was doing short town journeys all day long then yes i would have one tomorrow.

Still they struggle to increase the ranges, im all for electric cars but if they want to replace combustion engines then they need to be hitting 350 plus miles per charge in my view and produce them in the same price range as the gasoline equivalents. Once they achieve that i`ll jump n the bandwagon straight away but until then they just remain urban novelties in my book.

Remember it also depends how you drive and if the journeys are short stop start or long cruise ones. I topped my Tiguan up at 5600 miles and most of my journeys are short trips on A and B roads.

Same reason we discounted the BMW range. Found all the seats to be just too hard, also the reason we had to hand back our 3008 as the seats in that were the same although that only showed up after a few months of use and it was due to the fact the seats are stitched right down the middle which over time becomes very uncomfortable. The tiguan we have now is sublime and the massage drivers seat is brilliant, however the comfiest seats by far have to go to the Audi Q3 we had, those were like armchair comfort.

Don`t worry too much Mike, after all you have nothing to hide. All they will ask you is what you answered on the form thats what they did with me. It basically went over the existing questions i had already answered, i think they do this to see if your answers are consistent. Best thing is not to worry, my advice is read through the form you filled in several times before they arrive and always have someone with you if at all possible. My interview only lasted about 20 mins if that and the lady was really nice, not at all what i was expecting. Good luck.

I would highly recommend a bumper protection sticker for the rear bumper where it meets the boot opening. I have had 2 Tiguans now and they are very susceptible to scratches there when your taking things in and out of the boot no matter how careful you are and with yours been black it will stand out like a sore thumb.

Ive had 2 quotes now for two of my previous cars and thought both were a little high. The downside of having a well maintained low mileage car i guess but at least you know the history so i guess its worth paying top dollar for that.

Just remember Peugeot sell thousands of 3008 and 5008 models per year, just because a few people have bad ones does not make them a bad choice. I personally went from an Audi Q3 to the 3008 and i think for me that was a bit of a let down, although i love the styling the build quality just was not on par with the Audi or the BMW i had before that. Once the electrical gremlins crept in it was the final nail in the coffin for me, im glad i had the opportunity to try one but once i swapped back to a German car and collected my Tiguan i realised there were no comparisons. I know some people will disagree with me and call me a badge snob but i dont care really because at the end of the day it`s what matters to you personally. My advice is try it for an extended test drive and make you own mind up.

Got rid of my 3008 GTline after 9 months, suffered from numerous electrical faults. Wipers running on their own accord for no reason, even when the vehicle was parked and locked. Several times i came out to the car on a morning to find all the windows down, luckily it was summer. They tried blaming me for pressing the key in my pocket but the key was in a Faraday pouch and i was in bed at the time. Suffered from the media screen not booting up several times, was glad to see the back of it. Now have the Tiguan SEL and the difference is night and day, far better car in every aspect.
