@Solymar they scrapped the 12 month pip remaining rule awhile back buddy.

Hmm there’s enough one off the Sportline plus to add the heatpump instead…. Lol

They automatically knocked the £400 off in January from a December order, I don’t think I have the nerve to ask again even tho the car isn’t built yet.

The number of people discussing this on the FB group and not being very nice about people asking for a discount price. I said if it was your order and it was £500 I bet you’d at least ask, hypocrites

Not really sure you can compare the ZR-V and the Enyaq, ones an EV the others a hybrid.

Also not really sure I agree. Looking at trim levels and price the Enyaq Sportline 85x is £900 cheaper now than the ZR-V advance and an almost identical spec to the advance except the Enyaq has AWD. All the safety gear is the same, power boot on the face they’re basically the same aside pan roof and the Skoda has 20/21″ wheels

The only difference is the Honda has a pan roof as standard. However the boot is nearly 50% smaller than the Skoda. I think other than fuel type and dimensions they’re incredibly similar cars. Probably comes down to do you need the extra boot space and do you want petrol or electric. I did consider it it’s a lovely car, but I wanted to stay 100% electric as I just hate ICE now.

I had numerous DNO visits. Initially they upgraded me from 60A to 80A because we were looped.

Later they came and ran a new cable in and unlooped is and fitted a 100A fuse. We weren’t charged a penny by UK power networks

Yeah the previous Enyaq trims were pretty bad. The current ones are a lot better. It’s private because both BMW and Skoda are going to allow people to buy extras later I see the software is already there in the Skodas

There’s nearly 1000 cars on the scheme Inc variations and only 229 of them are EVs.

There are plenty of reasons to be critical of Motability like RAC response times, lack of hire cars, excessive “profits” etc but they’re not ramming EVs down anyone’s throats the vast majority of cars aren’t electric

Remember the push to electric is government driven, also manufacturers are probably behind this as much as Motability given the huge fines they face if they don’t keep % ice to EV right.

I get home charging is a big issue for a lot of people that needs addressing but honestly if you make changes at home an EV can be a total no brainer (at least for us we’re lucky as we can get an EV really cheaply). We’re lucky we have an air source heat pump and in December we got a 4kw solar install. Today we’ve been running the house and still exporting 1.6kw this plus an EV saves a fortune each month vs diesel and heating oil.

I’d strongly urge anyone sceptical about electric unless you tow get an EV for a long test drive you’ll be surprised

Meh whatever you do you, do your 0-60 times (even when they’re a lie lol) etc and be happy. I couldn’t care less either way, same as I couldn’t care less about peoples choice of EV petrol or diesel wtf do I care who gets what. As I said before there’s no right or wrong answer just good job there 900 odd cars to choose from.

Won’t be long before just about every car has near enough the same acceleration anyway the way it’s going lol

Personally I still think the Enyaq is unbeatable if you need space. Imho towing with an EV is never gonna be practical well until they build induction roads anyway.

Towing hybrid or straight ICE has gotta be the way to go. However the economics still work that for towing a caravan I’d either hire or buy something to tow for that holiday then get rid it’d still be cheaper.

Thanks to a small solar install even this time of year our electricity bill is now down to £9 a week or so on Agile (currently exporting 1.5kwh at 15p/kWh) that’s without an EV at the moment but even with an EV I’ll charge it at under 15p/kWh at home or less on sunny days.

0-60 has zero importance for me without a big enough boot and room for 4 adults. This is why it’s so important to have these 900 odd cars on the scheme everyone gets to pick what’s important to them.

Last I heard mine ordered 30th Dec is week 16, 85x Sportline in black no extras, better not move the wrong way only got hire car until 19th April after that not only am I “on my own” but it takes 6 weeks to return your allowance (funny how you can collect a new car in under a week but returning your money…)

The fact no one wanted them new means no one wants them used bet it’s to offset the depreciation.

Wouldn’t mind betting after 3 years they’ve lost most of their value

I am already a Motability customer but I’m in a hire car that they just texted to say they’re collecting on 2/4 so I’m completely screwed.

Have to see if I can borrow money to buy a banger with mot for a month or so massive waste of money but what else can I do. I’ll have to ask for my allowance back until the Enyaq is ready to pay for it

I ordered my estate Sportline plus 29/12 and got an email that the build date was brought forward to w/c 22/4 dunno what I’ll do if it slips as it’ll mean no car as they won’t pay for a hire car after that. I doubt there’s anything else suitable that’s in stock sooner. If they take it back I’ll have to quit the scheme until the car arrives and use the money to pay for temp insurance etc

Yup mines due late April, very excited first time I’ve had a high spec high value vehicle like this, really looking forward to the AWD and longer range.

Being able to get all the way to the theme parks without stopping will be awesome

I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes up given the waiting list for Enyaqs but equally now they seem to have put more capacity on the production line they might well keep it there.

Ordering right at the end of the quarter is the best way that way if it goes down you can make a deal to amend it later to save money. If it goes up or gets pulled then you’re safe too

Tesla are NEVER going to join the scheme. They sell every car they manufacture they don’t need the volume

Tesla don’t haggle so no Motability discount

Tesla are an AWFUL company to deal with so doubt Motability want the hassle

The cars aren’t unique they don’t bring anything special to the table that others already offer.

If you want a Tesla leave the scheme if you want a choice of nearly 1000 cars then forget Tesla. There are plenty of cars that ate just as good if not better and you’re not feeding a company that puts you in an abusive relationship

Start with the local council that deals with planning applications. Then I’m guessing you’d need a quote for power whether from your meter or a new connection and meter.

Talk to your council first I’d think. Might be worth involving your MP too

Before making a definitive decision about not having an EV. Unless it’s because you often tow or often do over 250 miles without stopping then take an extended test drive in an EV before ruling it out you might be surprised.

Ford have been doing 48 hours in a Mustang recently. My Skoda garage let me have an Enyaq for a whole day and more.

Having had one ill never go back by choice finding driving a hire car diesel really unpleasant

Best bet is the more advanced filters on the search engine. Hot the more filters button and you can choose to rule out SUV’s choose boot size etc.

                                        Good luck

Agile still cheaper for me, heat pump goes off 4-7 during stupid rates time and our price per month is around 15p/kWh.

As for prices yes that’s for that area but it’d be fairly unlikely Octopus will put the price down only on that region and we know the price drop is true already plus it’s spring anyway

Pull the e brake it’s literally in the handbook we’ll it was in my ZS as I recall for emergency use and yes I tested it (safely) it’s an electric old school style brake not related to EV so it’s going to help regardless.

Some of those I pace have the bad battery chemistry too from what I recall in recent news something else Jaguar has refused to put right

Let’s be clear though it’s not an EV matter this can happen to any new vehicle happened to Toyota in the US I think it was and others in fact the recent 3 cylinder eco boost recall the wet timing belt breaking up destroyed oil pressure causing loss of vacuum boosted braking and caused several crashes not to mention many dead engines that ford UK has refused to acknowledge despite the US recall.

Anyway point is this scenario is terrible and frightening but we are responsible for the cars we drive so we must have a plan in case the worst happens this was why I fully read the manual and then tested emergency procedures so I knew.

Hope everyone involved is ok and the defects get rectified to prevent any further incidents

Well not only have they stuffed up the door the fan has no humidity sensing so it’s only on if you turn the light on, this morning the wife set off every smoke alarm in the house as the steam set them all off as the door doesn’t close and as it was bright didn’t need the light on.

Sigh so now got to wait for them to arrange to come back out

On top of that as the door opens out and cant be kicked in during an emergency they were supposed to replace the standard bolt on the door with something that can be opened from the outside needless to say they didn’t bother.

I also didn’t like the fact that all the panels were chopped up outside, there’s now loads of micro plastic blowing around the garden, sure it’s insignificant in the grand scheme but if everyone did it plus we live within 1 mile of the sea which also makes it worse imho.  Yeah this is being picky but I actually care about such things esp when it’s stuff that’s easy to prevent
