we pick ours up 1st March so i will post as soon as we get a payment. the £1000 would be very helpful.
Mobility will not let dealers place orders on the mobility system before the 3 months….BUT….
you MAY be lucky.
Last Oct we waited for the new price list to come out as we knew that that would be the one we would use for our Nov 29th official order date from mobility (Thats the 3 months date we had from them) on the 8th Oct we had a test drive in a Peugeot e2008 and decided to go for one of them, at that point we couldn’t place a mobility order till the end of Nov but the dealership told us that they would be prepared to order one to our spec and colour in advance of that date if we wanted one. their mobility guy did all the mobility paper work for the order and raised the order on their system, he told us that they would order the car now (due to the longer waiting times) and then at the end of Nov he would place the order on the mobility system, well i was really expecting that they would really do that and expected that the paper work would justs it in the draw till the end of Nov and then and only then would they place a order on the factory for the car . turned out that they did place the order when they said and the car has now been sat it the dealerships showroom for a the last month waiting for the 1st March hand over, the dealer as sent me a list of 23 reg numbers to choose from too.
so in answer to your question, yes you can order early if the dealership want to be helpful but not officially via mobility, good luck,
PS if one dealership says no cant do it try another , the first Peugeot dealer said no, no one will do that but the next two called said no problem .

i just posted saying we have been given the reg number for the car we are to collect 1st March but have just received a email saying that was a mistake and the number will be a 23 plate, they are sending me a list of reg numbers so i can choose which one we want. never had that option before. (wifes not so happy Hi)

No idea which port they used, sorry about that. one small down side i have just found out, nothing thats a problem , is that they have just sent me the vehicle order details. it gives me the VIN number , colour, model spec etc which is all correct, BUT they have also registered the car and given me the reg number too, so its on a 72 plate rather than a 23 plate as we collect 1st March, not a problem just a observation really, the wife is happy about that as she doesn’t like people commenting on the fact we have a ‘new’ car and is always happier when there is a newer plate than ours.
It seems to me that the electric version is shipped faster than the petrol model but ours comes from Spain, your petrol version is from France (so i believe ), maybe thats the difference???.

Just had some more good news, the dealer just text me to say the car as arrived with him today. it will be going into the workshop now to adjust the settings for the UK etc , he says he will contact us in 3 weeks to arrange the collection time, thats very good service from them, we only ordered the car officially on the 29th Nov 22, (we had already spoken to the dealer on the 9th Oct and said we want it then but mobility will only let you place an order at 3months left to go but he says he ordered it at that time for us.) so that means it was only 2 weeks shipping from the factory tot he dealership, i had heard that there are problems at the ports getting cars out but we seem to have got ours out quickly.
just got to wait till 1st march now before we can collect it 🙁
We currently have a Suzuki Vitara 1.4 automatic (well for another 6 weeks anyway)
We only do very short runs, typically 5 mile there , 5miles back home, rare we do longer , may be once a week we may do a 20 mile trip to a garden centre etc. in this cold weather round town on the short runs we are only getting 29/30mpg , on the odd little run out to the country side i get about 45-50mpg, motorway once a year down to Brean at 60mph about 50mpg.
its very clear that the short runs and the colder weather get a much lower MPG figure. i dont expect to get more when the engine is cold. once the car is warmed up you can really see the difference in MPG.
We are moving over to EV in 6 weeks which may be better for short runs (Still greatly effected by the cold i know)
