    Hi Brydo,

What high end BMW’S or Mercs are you referring to, because I can’t remember any being on the scheme in the last 10 years.

I took out a tekna+ for a test drive about a month ago and the first thing I noticed was the sound system, it really is good.

    Hi Glos Guy ,

No wonder you’re glad to see the back of your Tiguan, you seem to have a right lemon on your hands. Iv’e got the same model as you but have suffered none of your problems, hope the x1 is kinder to you.

Well the Merc CLA estate wasn’t the most practical car so you’ll just have to slum it like most people.

The reason I asked was I had one as a courtesy car for 4days just over 2 years ago, it was an s line 1.5 dsg. what I remember was how much better it was than the old q3 .

Also I didn’t find the 1.5 underpowered I was quite impressed with it.

Yes my Son picked up a new X3 at the beginning of December, again a nice car but he is a badge snob.

Iv’e worked in Manufacturing since the early seventies when I done my apprenticeship as a toolmaker for an aerospace company but spent most of my time in the auto industry.

Hi Glos Guy,                                                                                                                                                                                 Yes I’ve had two Audi’s my last was the new Q5 and it was a really good car but I still wouldn’t regard it as premium, in reality it was a posh VW but no more.

    Hi Glos Guy

I have to disagree with the different league bit, I can assure you the engines and gearbox of rival manufacturers are built just as good and as far as the fit and finish is concerned I think the Japanese and Koreans would take issue with you there.

I’m not saying the Q3 is not a decent car, it is, but I wouldn’t describe it as Premium.

I dont know why people regard this car as premium, whatever that means, it’s really not.

My wife’s award was due to end next year so was expecting a letter this year.

last July we had a letter of the DWP saying that they had looked again at the award and decided that it will be ongoing and she won’t be contacted until after July 2030.

    Hi Tim,

I owned a 2.0 petrol Q5 last year and it had a 7 speed DSG just like the DSG Tiguan which I’m now driving. Audi use the same gearbox in the 2.0 diesel. Audi do use an 8 speed tiptronic in the 3.0 v6  SQ5.

Hi Adam, Motability didn’t lose 14k on the Audi, they paid a lot closer to 20k than 34k.

when you add your a.p. plus payments approx 12k they probably made some money.

    Hi BigB

There was a major report in 2112 stating that Diesel cars in the real world were seven times more polluting with NOx than manufactures claims. It was estimated that 12,000 premature deaths in the uk alone and over 70,000 in Europe was due to Diesel particulates especially in our cities. Dieselgate didn’t help but countries around the world were already banning Diesels from there cities                                                                                   Soon it will be Petrols turn, are people going to blame VW for that too.

I think the interior looks fine but the exterior is just plain ugly. There’s not many cars I wouldn’t buy because of looks, especially if it was a good car but this is one along with the Fiat multipla. I think I’d feel a bit self-conscious driving it.

No surprise about Skoda. Theyve been great to own for ages. No need to add the line ‘for a Skoda’ !

I’m not surprised because all in name it’s  a German car, same goes for seat.
