February 1, 2023 at 8:53 pm in reply to: VW Tiguan Faulty Travel Assist – Return/Exchange Vehicle? AP? #208234I’m hoping this will be the case and it will resolve however other forums have stated after a few months the problem re-appeared. @MickC @RogerWilko My car precious to this was a Kuga 2016 2.0TDCi 150 Manual. I switched to auto because of my 2 hour journeys I had what I called ‘clutch knee’ and I no longer have that problem since being in an auto. I’m in high hopes for it to be fixed as I love the car! I feel however Kuga’s are bigger which I like. But either way I just want to enjoy driving and if this pinging goes away I’ll be happy! However if it doesn’t I simply can’t live with it. What is the fuel consumption like with the Kuga. My previous Kuga did 49-51 mpg on the same run my Tiguan does 45-47 which I don’t think is too bad for a 4wd and Auto. But haven’t owned a petrol vehicle for 7 years so no idea what the efficiency is, I do 40 miles a day minimum. I’ve got my fingers crossed VW can fix it, as I was in hopes of purchasing it at the end of the lease.
Similar boat to me …..this car is my first auto because could no longer cope with clutch ankle and knee and the wrist doing gear changes the electric handbrake is a must.
Been on a journey today 100 mile round trip at 65/75mph returning 48/55mpg.
If you like your VW i hope they can mend it for you

I have a 2021 2.0 Kuga AWD with the 8 speed auto and it is quiter than the Mondeo 6 speed manual i had before when accelerating,it changes gear smoothly at all speeds and crawls in traffic without any jerkiness, choose “sport mode” and it becomes very lively to drive.

Can any joe bloggs who is disabled and in receipt of DLA/PIP etc claim VAT relief on a new car purchase or do you have to be VAT registered running a company that already pays VAT
I bought some basic mobility appliances from a Mobility Shop a while back and i think i got those VAT free.
My Kuga went in for an “interim” service in the autumn where the adblue was topped up and various other checks were done……tyre’s,brakes and a outstanding TSB recall was done,i asked if they were changing the oil and filter as the oil life indicator was showing 20% (manual check in settings) …..no we are not doing that at the moment but if the the oil life indicator light (spanner) comes on before May 2o23 when the car is 2 years old book it in and the oil will be changed.

Did anyone watch QT last nite where one of the questions was about the NHS and the Tory on the panel could not bring himself to say/admit that the NHS was in “crisis”.

January 1, 2023 at 10:54 am in reply to: How is everyone getting on with their electric cars? #204066@Fordmax just an idea for you to try, ignore what it says on the dash and drive it until it stops noting the actual mileage you travelled, then you will know the “real world figure” for your car,you will have to phone the RAC to either be towed or boosted some electricity to get you home.

Wish the designers would get rid of those daft looking “stirrups” in the front doors.

The designer of the car …..was he a horse rider……..when i see those fake styrup’s in the passenger and drivers door.
Do they have a function,am missing something.
I have a Ford Kuga AWD with 19″ alloys and Continental Premium Contact 6 they are “summer tyres”
Never had a problem with deep snow or shiny compacted snow ice, just put the car in “slippery mode” for ice and “snow/sand mode” for snow and off it goes,up the steep Sheffield hills.
Car has done 7k+ now and tyres still have 5mm/6mm tread left.
