I went from a 180 Leon petrol  into my current vehicle 🚗,  The interior is vastly bigger and the ride height also,  The Ateca is the best driving SUV by some margin,  it feels just like a sports car handling very sharply indeed,  The intelligent AWD system saps power a little but the grip and traction it offers is fantastic,  enjoy.

The Golf is a quality car with excellent engine and DSG,  and its reasonable AP too,  Downside is the options list is pretty much standard on every vehicle at the same price,  900 quid for LED lights,  come on lol

The best thing to do is look online in the VW forums,  that will give you a much clearer idea on actual build and delivery times,  in my opinion 10 weeks is very optimistic,  I chose an Ateca over a Tiguan because the latter’s deliveries were taking 26 weeks.

Chill Outrigger, I didn’t get rudeness or bitterness from Markw’s post, just a bit of banter!

    Always my objective 👍

Gave up with the lack of accurate information provided by Seat UK.Final straw seeing the same engine reintroduced to the Tiguan for order.Obviously the parent Company VW taking first choice on its roll out .Furthermore the fuel economy for the engine appears to have suffered from reducing its emissions.Cancelled order and now getting a Ford KUGA ST line X AWD 190 diesel in Lucid Red .Stunning Car and delivery end of May.

So presumably,  you wanted a diesel vehicle anyway,  so why moan about the lack of 2.0 petrol lol

Mine took 18 weeks,  but I did get a sweetener of 250 quid for the delay from VAG customer service

I was quoted 12 weeks for my Ateca,  which was revised to 18, it actually took 3 days longer than that but VAG customer service gave me 250 quid for the extra delay

You can’t delay the inevitable 😉 I will probably get an EV in 3 years time.

The best tyres in the world won’t make a scrap of difference if they are not actually being driven by a modern intelligent AWD system,  good tyres can make things better but the difference is still chalk and cheese.

It’s better than nothing,  and works quite well I believe,  but in reality it’s just a glorified limited slip differential

We live on the borders of the lakes and North Yorkshire,  some very difficult weather and terrain,  so AWD is pretty essential here,  conversely,  if most of your journeys are tootling down to Asda, it’s probably a waste of money .

The Volvo B4P 2.0 petrol has 35% less torque than the VW group 2.0 diesel,  and probably the same deficit in overall fuel economy,   no escaping the facts

They are generally quieter and more free revving,  in some respects I miss my two litre Leon,  it made a beautiful noise if you pushed it hard,  upside of my current diesel is around 30 percent better fuel economy in all circumstances and vastly more grunt torque,  especially noticeable under load,  the Q3 is nice,  you’ll enjoy it.

    Now that’s an impressive feat!

if ever I get into difficulties,  I’d prefer my chances of being towed out by this as opposed to Vinalspins 2wd Van 🤣

Bear in mind that winter tyres are effective and superior in temperatures of 6 degrees and under,  above that they are actually less effective and even dangerous in normal driving

Useful thanks,  if lockdown has taught me anything,  I have learned that I don’t need a huge milage capacity, maybe in four years time I’ll be ready for an EV 😁

Put simply,  the best thing the government can do to promote and advance EV ownership, is to invest nationwide in the infrastructure before forcing us to use and purchase vehicles we can’t conveniently charge

Electric vehicles are completely unviable where I live,  almost zero charging infrastructure,  Govt basically putting the cart before the horse 🐎,
