Noel, I have seen posts from the owner of this site who strongly agrees that this forum is not all about the Motability scheme.
There are a lot of people out there who won’t go on the scheme but do post about the alternatives.
There is a life you know driving a car that isn’t a Motability one.
I have also stated on many occasions that when my current lease deal is up, if there is a car I fancy on the scheme then I would probably go back on it.
I’m not the only person on here who can’t find one that suits me.
By the way it’s not me that harps on about what people should drive and when you have had the pleasure of driving you Mini for a while I would appreciate your opinion of it. That’s of course if the Cooper S is still on the scheme.
Noel, this forum is not just about the Motability scheme.
With the scheme becoming worse for choice as time goes on other people want to hear about the alternatives.
I have never said I can get a car cheaper and neither have I said I want 1000bhp.
However I have said that I don’t want to be limited to 200bhp maximum.
If you can’t afford to lease privately then avoid these threads. It clearly says this one is for private leasing and finance deals.
There are alternative options to the scheme for some disabled drivers.
But bellington, if scotland decides to go independent, you would probably need your own scheme as this current one is for the UK.
Does the ROI have a scheme?

Of course a private lease isn’t going to be cheaper than Motability as they don’t get the benefit of the VAT fiddle.
The private lease route is only better that it allows you to choose a car you want if it’s outside the remit of the Motability restrictions ie. cost and bhp.
It’s very true what BionicRusty says in that the lease deals are very fluid and cars for whatever reason can suddenly reduce massively in price. You can also get some cracking deals on ready spec’d cars some of which come fully loaded.
Yes that’s why the new BMW 4 series will have a cloth roof.
I do love the new 3 series and was hoping to see it on the scheme.
I used to have a car on a pcp but found it very expensive and I certainly wouldn’t go down that route again.
With leasing you can put down a very inexpensive amount which equates to 3 months rental, which is far less than a lot of the Motability cars. You can also have a fully maintained lease. Insurance depending on where you live is also not an expensive item plus if you wish you can pay monthly.
Like I said though, once I retire I will have the choice of either purchasing a vehicle or going back on the scheme as leasing won’t be an option.
I therefore take an active interest as to what is happening on the scheme and yes I am disappointed at what I see as opposed to a few years ago.
I have driven one Phil and personally I found it rubbish.
But Phil all you ever post about is how Tiggys are the best cars in the world.
At the end of the day, this forum is about disabled drivers whether or not you are on the scheme is irrelevant.
I lease privately as it suits me at this moment in time.
It doesn’t stop me comparing that to being on the scheme especially as a lot of people on here are considering doing the same.
This forum by the way isn’t just about the scheme.
Or didn’t you know that.
I think the mods should take a look at your abusive posts Winston and take action.
You are free to leave any time you want Winston.

Winston you are a bitter and twisted man and deserve to be banned from this forum.
A typical keyboard warrior who hides behind his screen.
At some point I will unfortunately have to use the scheme as retirement comes to all of us eventually.
I did say the scheme suits some people, but while I can I will continue to drive cars I enjoy driving.
The wee man quote implies you are a typical bitter scottish person.
Just hope you don’t get your independence, otherwise the scheme might not be for you either as you won’t necessarily be eligible.
And by the way I’m sick of your poor old me posts, I just skip past them.

I think the scheme is fine for those who are happy with what is available.
Personally there’s not a single car on there that I would be happy with so I pay more and drive what I want to.
However with the way the scheme is going price wise, it won’t be long until the prices are similar.
Totally agree Lord Muc.
I couldn’t see how the hybrid could make it onto the scheme as it breaks all of the parameters set by Motability.
Some excellent deals there, but sadly for most private leasing is out of the question.
That is disgusting, haven’t metallics always been free.
Just watch other manufacturers follow their lead.
I can see other manufacturers following the lead of Volvo and no longer offering free metallic paint.
It’s just another AP rise in disguise.
That’s ok but surely the scheme should be more flexible in catering to peoples needs and wants.
Not everyone can lease privately or want a car that’s underpowered and boring.
It seems lately that it is catering for less people than ever.
Either VW are ripping the scheme off or the negotiators at Motability are stealing a living.
The list just gets worse. The way things are going they may as well just offer the Tiguan and turn us all into clones of each other.
If I had to use the scheme I would be seriously peed off.
