As above Nissan Qashqai Tekna ( my next car )
Great thing to have as had this on a 2015 Grand C Max only problem was the screen heating strips played havoc with visibility once the sun was in your face.
So nice when people share their experiences
I am also looking forward to ordering the E Power in April as long as the AP is not increased
Cheers Mike for keeping us updated on your E Power experience
Much appreciated and will fingers crossed also be contributing to this thread in the summer.
Happy motoring all
January 16, 2023 at 11:44 pm in reply to: No More Buying Vehicles from Motability at Lease End #206405Not exactly on topic but interesting nevertheless
I handed a bmw back to a dealer south coast uk where it sat for 10 days
It was then taken to outskirts of london for a week and then went all the way to a forecourt in a Main BMW Dealership in Edinburgh
I then looked up the dealers address from its location which was still active on my phone app and saw the cars photos and price of sale
I noticed from the dealers photos that the parcel shelf was missing and it then dawned on me that I still had it at home lol
Did I childishly lock/unlock the car beep its horn and flash its lights?
Of course not
I simply logged out and deleted the BMW connect app
Hi Mike 700
I have test drove the e-power and will be ordering in April
Thank you for your updates and hope they continue on a regular basis
Below is a newly released video showing use in city in traffic in winter with air-con on
This cars appeal suits my main driving habits and of course its consumption can differ according where you live, where/how you choose to drive
Pulling out and onto a busy roundabout without hesitation combined with its safety features are its main attractions for me
Nissan Qashqai e-power: CITY fuel consumption economy real-life test mpg l/100 km urban area traffic
I will choose to remain on the scheme for many reasons which inc peace of mind and financial situation for ex a repair of a simple part for example a cars handbrake can be £700+
I have off road parking (In my case … Free Gov grant covered installation of a paved double driveway) ( I will cover this 1yr journey in more detail in a separate thread )
So along with free home charger installation I would be mad not to take advantage of the positives and look to make my next lease electric
Everyone’s situation can differ and as I already have a car and its lease has another 10 months to run ( and may well have to extend at least as long again that’s factoring in reordering 3 months before the end of my lease
I feel for those that are joining the scheme for the first time and are having to struggle,
who under the present circumstances imo should be given scheme priority.
It all comes down to personal choice/circumstances
March 22, 2022 at 7:45 pm in reply to: Motability customers, delays and semiconductor shortage #180700Lots of chips around its just that covid reduced new vehicle sales forcing the car chip makers to look further afield thus expanding their client base.
New vehicle demand is now back up so the chip makers are having to meet the requirement’s of a much larger client base.
This will iron out.
Hopefully by my renewal date April 2023
Owning your own car seems to be getting more popular now
Main attraction imo is that the nominated drivers needs are also met and are never questioned.
As you get older your mileage may drop and modern cars are lasting longer
Food for thought?
Ah well
I do 7,000 miles a year =19 miles per day
my granny charger tops up quick enough for me
Should say meter me bad
Some UK insurers will accept this letter as proof of no claims and give you a corresponding NCD.
Hi can you name any of these UK insurers that will accept this letter as proof of no claims and give you a corresponding NCD ? as I have so far drawn a blank thanks.[/quote]
Thought this thread was about news and updates
That was a waste of my time then
Strange question imo as
One is a parking bay other is a charging bay simples
Chargers are in short supply so charge up and move the car the same as everybody else imo
The new MG has a dedicated built in usb port at the top of the windscreen as standard
In reply to above comment the dash cams view window can be switched off when driving if you wish and find it distracting
Who wants to see a screen showing you the exact thing that you are already looking at
IMO the modern touch screens in cars are more distracting
But drivers are forced to take their eyes off the road for far to long when attempting to operate sub standard touch screens like those being churned out by VW for example ..Madness imo
