Yes, the abuse of disabled parking at sports centres is very frustrating. I mean, why? They go there for exercise, yet the 20 yard walk to the door is too much for them.

I hear what you say, if a WAV is too big, it’s too big.
I mentioned it as we had a VW Transporter WAV and it was just over a foot longer than the car. It is worth mentioning that it was much easier to drive than we thought, the high driving position and great all round visibility made it a doddle to drive and park.

Depends on which side of the bed I get of. On a grumpy day I would politely remind the person they forgot to put their blue badge up and leave it at that. I will only ever consider an EV when the charge points are contactless payment. Having ten apps on my phone for longer journeys isn’t my idea of fun.

I suspect those with a five year lease may well be able to extend beyond 5 years, but that will be heavily modified cars and WAVs I bet.

Yup, I have an ID3 on order from beginning of November. I don’t even bother to think about delivery dates. The charge point gets my attention at the moment.

So far I have paid £160 (rounded up) for an isolation switch. I am due to be refunded from BP.
I need a cable run of 25m and the standard is 15m. So I am expecting a bill for that, we shall see.
I have to say, I feel like the vanguard here. Am I really the first ever?!
I should add that it will be a significant financial contribution from Motability, and a reason why I am doing it.

I think the future we will see electric caravans and trailers. With their own battery and electric motor but controlled by the car of course. Caravans cost ££££ so you can treble that if it happens!

I feel you need to back up what you are saying with numbers and demonstrate the problem.
I had a quick look at a BMW X2 2.0i Xdrive Sport retails for £38360 or £31967 ex VAT. Deposit is £3299 and three years of PIP is £6120. They sell on Autotrader after three years for about £25000 but I doubt the retailers don’t pay that at auction. Lets say they get back £23000.
So total income would be £3299+£6120+£23000 = £32419 which is £452 more than the actual car costs.
There is an argument for discounts, but so is there for additional costs – breakdown, insurance, adaptations and tyres. I know this will not be the same for all cars.
At £452 for the 650,000 customers, that equals £293,800,000 every three years(circa £98m per year). So whilst looking at profit alone, it is a big number, but look at numbers per customer and it suddenly becomes small beer.
