ParticipantOn my Tiguan there is a Max AC button and pressing that switches the fan to maximum and puts the recirculation on for the reasons Trev explains above. I believe some new cars also turn it on when going into tunnels, based on the sat nav.
Like GG, I tend to run the AC all the time unless I have the pan roof open (but then I get a dashboard nag to shut the roof as it is causing drag).

ParticipantThanks. So far, it was worth the wait.

ParticipantTiguan SEL 190Tdi DSG 4 motion in Caribbean blue, ordered 28 January, picked up 30 June.

ParticipantLooking good Glos. Tell me, as I’m picking up my Tiguan on Saturday, can you get the England tattoo at the dealer or do I have to find somewhere in Oxford first?

ParticipantMy advice would be call Motability as soon as you think this might happen. My car will be 39 months and 61,000 by the time my new car finally turns up (no prizes for guessing it’s a Tiguan). I spoke to Mota and explained the situation and they were very helpful and said that I won’t have to pay anything. During the conversation, the agent said the rule of thumb is 54 miles/day so I think so long as you are within those limits you will be OK.

ParticipantFirst confirmed build week – 21 may
Second confirmed build week – 11 June
Third confirmed build week – 28 May
Actual build week – 4 June
Jumped from stage 3 to 5, without bothering stage 4. Car in transit, hopefully getting by the end of June, even had a choice of number plates. I’ve gone for VW 02 SLO.

ParticipantGreat list. Think you must be the only person ever to go from SWB Silver Spur to a Kalista.

ParticipantVW delivery times are poor and not just for Tiguans. A friend ordered an e-Golf last year and still doesn’t have a confirmed build week. And then there’s the Golf GTE…
Dealer-wise, unless they have something to tell me, I don’t need to hear from them. Having said that, I did hear from my dealer today (car, not drugs!) and I’ve now a confirmed build week of 21 May. Word on the Tiguan forum is 4-6 weeks after for delivery.
Just had a very different experience helping to buy a new Vauxhall for a relative. The car they wanted was in stock so they has to wait 4 whole days to get it.

ParticipantJust been on to VW Live Chat. Was Week 21, now Week 23 **sigh**

ParticipantCaribbean blue – top colour (but I’m biased!). Ordered mine end of Jan, hoping to get it in June.

ParticipantI wonder if the concern is if people start drilling holes in the dashboard and the like, like the old days of car phone cradles.

ParticipantThere’s a similar thread to this going at the moment and at the risk of repeating myself, the Skoda Superb has excellent front and rear leg room. It is often said the rear leg room is as good as a S class Mercedes.

ParticipantThey are a bit of a sleeper in the BMW range. I think they are excellent value for the AP, so long as you keep away from the options list!

ParticipantThis is a review on Honest John. Stick with it through the annoying “banta” as the reviewer does make same interesting points eventually.

Participant5 weeks in “order being processed” and counting. Been told 21 weeks (generally, not my order) for delivery but don’t know if that is from order going in or from when they give you the build week.

ParticipantThe only car I know of that has a dashcam as standard is the Citroen C3 Flair, which is on the scheme.

ParticipantThere is a thread on the Tiguan MK2 forum about sound systems. In summary, some like Dynaudio and others think the bass is too boomy. I didn’t go for it as I only listen to the radio on the move so couldn’t justify the cost.

PS Nice motor Stuart!

ParticipantRighto, as soon as My Volkswagen is updated, I will be badgering them for a build week.
Cockney Geezer
ParticipantSome (small) progress on my order. Although My Volkswagen has me at “Order being processed”, I’ve been told by live chat, I’m now “at the factory” and I will get a build week in “a few weeks time”. Apparently, build time is between 16 and 20 weeks depending on specification.
BTW, my order went to VW on 6 Feb so it has taken 20 days to get off the starting square.

ParticipantI think your mates call you “Brydo” as you look like Rob Brydon – 5’7″, follically challenged and Welsh.
