Instead of calling out a single member why don’t you open the question to all forum members:

          such as:

hi everyone I presently have a Volvo xc40 and it’s the right size. With it no longer being on the Scheme I’m looking for a similar sized replacement. I can order from x date. Perhaps offer your preference of drivetrain – electric, hybrid or ice.

          just an idea.

@ajn, the answer unfortunately is a simple “no”.  Although we are 16 months from the end of the lease of our XC40 PHEV, I’m often looking to where we go next and it’s likely to be off the scheme unless I can persuade myself to extend.

Ok ?, long way off yet, Dec2023, it’s just I don’t keep upto date with on/off scheme vehicles..

We’re exactly 3 years into our Volvo XC40 lease. At the moment there’s nothing which comes close, so we recently extended for 2 years.

Like Wigwam, I’m often looking to see “what if”.

Current thoughts are ePower Qashqai, Citroen C5X and DS4, but we’re in no rush to change and I’m hoping the high APs will start to reduce.

We’re coming to terms with the fact that the so called premium brands may not come back onto the scheme.

                2024 - BMW i4 Grand Coupe eDrive 35 Sport
                2020 - Volvo XC40 T4 Inscription
                2017 - Audi Q3 TFSi Sport S-Tronic

As mentioned Dudes, my lease is Dec 23, probably would have changed to the petrol/plug type xc40..

Luckily the choice to extend so think I’ll stick with that as you have.

seems the list changes quite often, hope something grabs your attention that will cover your needs and preference..

Mrs aj mentioned the DS last time so maybe this time.

Thanks for the info and best of luck searching..

Hhhhmmm the boot space on the DS looks tiny, and the rear seats don’t fold flat, rear seats no space at all, otherwise I like it, great idea with the suspension..

The Volvo XC40 was our 2nd choice when we last changed and, as Wigwam has said, you won’t get anything comparable to these cars now, sadly. I’m sure that the usual idiotic comments about brand snobbery will follow from those who feel that all cars are identical in terms of build quality, refinement, driver engagement, functionality etc but there are no decent premium offerings left on the scheme.

There are a number of similar or even larger SUVs on the scheme but, with the current extortionate APs, you will be paying a lot more than you did for your Volvo for something that’s not as good. For a car that you will never own, and with the hike in benefits that you now have to sacrifice, the economics of running a Motability car have worsened considerably.

We hope that things will have improved markedly by next year when our 3 year lease ends as we would prefer to remain in the scheme, but if it doesn’t we will probably leave. We are fortunate that we can afford to do this, but even if we couldn’t we would probably leave and buy second hand, as the sacrificed benefits and AP saved would get you a very decent used car, which you will then have as part exchange for the next car.

Very wise words Glosguy, I’m sure many would agree, unless you can live with and fit a tiny vehicle with nil AP, use the back seats as storage and leave the parcel shelf at the dealers..

My Seat Ateca is a good size, but there’s no way I’ll be getting the same Lux trim version again though due to the useless 19″ Bridgestone tyres.  Had 1″ of snow this morning and barely made it out of ours cul-de-sac and onto the main road.  The new Xperience Lux is also fitted with them (and the horrible wiper blades).

That and the AP has more than doubled since I got my Xcellence Lux petrol which was about £1250, now £2749.  The lower Xperience trim has 18″ which are supposed to be better but looses the heated seats and remote opening boot, both of which I find invaluable.

The only other cars that I’m looking at are the Mazda CX5 Exclusive Line and possibly the Ford Kuga ST Line.

I may go look at an Ecosport ST Line (nil AP) as a friend has just got one, it’s higer than my Ateca so access should be OK.  I haven’t had a ride in it yet but he’s very impressed with the improvements over the previous model he had.  Only problem is the stupid side opening boot, can’t understand why they’ve still not got rid of that given almost every review picks it up as a bad design.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Hi, my other half is French and she lost both her parents in 2019 so came into a bit of money, she desperately needed to replace her 18 year old Focus estate and wanted to go French as a nod to her routes and that’s where her money came from.

I was a bit sceptical from past experience but she ended up with a high spec Citroën C5 aircross and to be fair it’s impressed the hell out of me.

It’s roomy, economical, really comfy and well equipped.

Hello Gary, we once hired a C3 (whilst waiting on Volvo order)

As you say comfortable, very comfy, under rated I guess..

Very thoughtful of your partner under the circumstance..

I’d forgetten about the C5 Aircross (C Series trim), I’d short listed the diesel but the AP has gone up to £3,495 so it would have to be the petrol at £2,495.

If I was looking for tgat size of car, I would look at the Skoda Karol Sportline, or the Seat Ateca, or the VW Tiago or TRoc, or the Kia

Skoda Karoq, VW Tiguan and the Seat Ateca are built on the same chassis and engine variants, not a lot of difence size wise.

For the AP the Seat has more tech for the money.

Or keep the Volvo for longer if you can extend, and the cars good for you. If it ain’t broke and all that ??‍♂️.

I’m holding out to see if Subaru rejoin and offer the Forester. Now that would have us give up the XC40, otherwise if we were really motivated to change then the XTrail Tekna if that came on, or the Mazda CX5 exclusive line.

Subaru is the one that I’m minded to be patient for though I think.

Bit soon to look though due to how things are currently. Come Dec 23 Motability may even be back to normal ?

I read a post on another site yesterday, from someone working in the motor industry, that he felt that Subaru may come back on and shift stock of their XV as there’s a refresh / rename on the way.

He also felt Forester may not come on.
