for the veterans out there i submitted a reveiw request last year as i have deteriorated and in fact its now even worse. so i sent a chase up explaining it was even worse and detailed a particular episode that happened a few weeks ago.

just received this back and a firm we wont discuss things over the phone when i rang them.

getting really hacked off with it (polite version).:

Unfortunately the people who work there rejoice in denial of claims and are in no hurry to progress anything that could potentially lead to you getting an upgrade to your allowance.

I know of one person who took 7 years to get justice having to appeal every decision through the court and won every case.

beleive it or not my local mp is responsible she’s under sec or something for veterans affairs and stuff so ive sent her this and a raft of attachments so we will see maybe lol i wont hold my breath.

          ma’am,

firstly i have to say that i was suprised that my local mp is effectively the person responsible for my frustrations.

i served 76-94 and took redundancy on the options for change, i wont get into the various appaling decimation of the armed forces by various governments of all colours we would be here all year.

basically last march i began sending questions to veterans as i was approaching oap age and was being made redundant but also was self employed and ended up keeping a couple of clients.

so i had various questions regarding ongoing entitlement to a lower standard of employment and age related queries.

i have attached various emails from me and the replies, as you can see none of them answered any of my direct queries neither did any phone calls.

13 months down the line my reveiw request is not resolved and in fact my condition is worse than when i submitted the request for a reveiw.

the veterans agency is not fit for purpose none of my questions were ever replied to other than by a generic email. none of my questions given an answer.

even todays email gives no timeline for resolution and no answers and your effectiveley told dont bother ringing because we wont discuss anything over the phone.

          your department i understand.

          please sort it out.

          yours

For anyone else that find themselves in this position

            {13 months down the line my review request is not resolved and in fact my condition is worse than when i submitted the request for a review}

            It is important to remember

Contact Veterans UK: Inform them immediately about the further deterioration to ensure the current review considers the full, up-to-date extent of the condition.
Provide New Evidence: Submit additional medical evidence, such as new consultant reports, GP notes, or treatment records from physiotherapists or other health professionals, that show the condition has worsened since the initial review request.
Do Not Withdraw the Original Review: Do not close the current review, as this may delay the process. Instead, provide additional evidence.
Get Advice: Contact a service charity like the Royal British Legion (RBL) to assist with updating the evidence and strengthening the case

It is disgusting the way veterans are treated. I served 30 years in Airforce and was medically discharged in 2012 on an 90% war pension. Being medically discharged, means there was no other role that they could employ me in regardless of trades.

First introduction to big bad world, was eviction notice being served as soon as my medical leave had finished. Even though had applied for council housing and was paying equivalent council rate. But ok that i was expecting. Then applied for the unemployability entitlement. To which the system replied no get a job. Doing what I asked, as if they could tell me what i was capable of doing why could i not do that job within forces.

I sought help from the legion. It went right till the day of the court case when the MOD backed down admitting full liability and backdated awards of all benefits. The legion solicitor said, he had seen this to many times. Sometimes resulting in younger lads giving up the fight with tragic consequences.
