I have just had this email today from VW motability sales person –

I’ve just been given notification from Volkswagen with regards updates on availability of models and specifications for 2026 model year changes on passengers cars.

As such, the changes are that you can no longer factory order a VW Golf Black Edition 2.0 TDI DSG model – This model is now being discontinued.

I placed order for the Black Edition 2.0 earlier this week and it was accepted. It is showing as the ordered car in my login page. Furthermore, the car is also still an option on Motability website AND is still showing as a configuration on the VW website itself – should I expect a cancelled application? Or as my application was already in before 2026 or whenever their apparent change to factory order occurs I’m okay?

I should also note I’ve not been that happy with this gentleman from the offset. So I’m unsure to believe him regardless.

Any and ALL help appreciated.

Although it’s discontinued there will be unsold models still in the system so chances are you’ll be OK.

I was told by my VW dealer that the Touran was discontinued in 2021 but its still here. Sometimes I think they just mean there discontinued for Motability customers.
