Great news, more EV’s and the long speculated VW ID3 has arrived on the scheme, some are pricey, but £999 starting price is good especially with the potential savings.
Tope spec Tour Pro S is 204bhp and just under £43k, so another nice move regarding the old Caps
Life Pro 62kWh at £999
Life Pro Performance 62kWh at £1249
Family Pro 62kWh at £2649
Family Pro Performance 62kWh at £2949
Tour Pro S 82kWh at £4499
Max Pro Performance 62kWh at £4649

That is great news!
The lower spec models look like they come with a good amount of kit. At a quick glance the Life Pro Performance looks like a good value pick @ £1249

TimThanks for the info dude. Only saying yesterday it seems to have taken an age to come in the scheme but I’m very happy it’s here. Which other EV’s have been added? (More EV’s)
Do you think you would have been interested in the ID3 vs the Kona at these prices?
March 17, 2021 at 9:47 am #142678All but the Tour trim have shocking ‘Aero’ wheels – it’s £640 to upgrade to normal alloys.
March 17, 2021 at 9:50 am #142679
TimWho needs alloy wheels when you have futuristic acceleration noises emitted from the bonnet?

More EV’s was just the physical number, 57 to 63, but hopefully, this is a good sign for the Skoda Enyak etc in the next year.
Kona over the ID3, I prefer the SUV height due to my injury, so almost certainly would have still gone for the Kona, it’s a shame that the ID3 doesn’t include charging cables either, that’s quite a pricey item that I personally think should be standard.
My car of choice would have been the e-Niro, if that was available today in the 4+ trim, probably a £4k AP, I’d have still gone with the Kona, the savings make it a no brainer, but if no savings it would definitely have been the e-Niro.

March 17, 2021 at 11:00 am #142740I’m not a big fan of the standard wheels and charging extra for them on all but one model is a bit sneaky in my opinion.
I really like the wheels in that pic Mike but I’ve had a look and they’re a really expensive option and not worth the money. They’re also massive and I’m not sure what that would do to the ride quality.
In terms of colours I like them all apart from the turquoise which is a bit much for my tasteMarch 17, 2021 at 11:03 am #142741I’m not a big fan of the standard wheels and charging extra for them on all but one model is a bit sneaky in my opinion.
As is £180 for a granny charging cable and £219 for a mode 2 cable, really should be standard items

TimI’m shocked they don’t include any charging cables, even Apple still gives you a cable.
Would you need one? Assuming you get BP pulse charging at home does that come with cable(s), and do most charging stations have cables attached for use already?

The fast chargers (50kWh plus) have attached leads, but the 7kWh ones in supermarkets etc don’t, and I think personally, I’d want to have the security of being able to plug into a 13 amp socket, especially if you’re away from home, or your home charger develops a fault. Just think it’s penny pinching not to include something that in many ways is an essential piece of equipment

Ouch. That’s why I have only seen the white car with black roof on the road.

ChubI just screamed my house down like I have won the lottery I have been waiting for this ????❤️
March 17, 2021 at 1:41 pm #142762It’s good news that we have more choice but I agree that cables should be included. The tour pro with 336 miles of range is of particular interest although it’s relatively high AP will be a deterrent for many but 261 miles of range on other models is not too shabby. Hopefully Q2 will see an expanded range of cars continuing into Q3 and Q4 and beyond.

IanGreat start. We now need to see others EV’s on the scheme, like the e-niro.
March 17, 2021 at 5:49 pm #142779This is great to see. Not suitable for me currently, but good for progression on the scheme and what the future may bring.

DafThat’s great news. I as much as anyone have been Critical of fhe schemes luke warm approach to EVs, but credit where its due it looks as if we are going to have a lot more choice from now on.
I don’t know who’s responsible for the change but we’ll done whoever they are.
March 17, 2021 at 7:22 pm #142783It would be nice to think that in q2 we could have, maybe 100 electric options so there is a real choice.

ChubJust looked at a review on you tube the of the ID, the reviewer said the car does come with a charger. Don’t know if it has changed from when they first released them.

All EV’s have an onboard charger, but you still have to connect the charger to the supply via a cable, which is an additional cost on the ID3

Totally agree it SHOULD be included in the cost, but you have to choose it as a £180 drivers assistance option in the configuration, CRAZY

TimPerhaps asking for car mats and a tank of fuel is out and asking for a cable and full charge is the new haggle.
March 18, 2021 at 11:28 pm #142897bland looks, shocking software. Think ill stick with my soul, good old fashioned buttons, an interior and software that shine above the rest and a good range to boot not to mention a few ready`s saved in the bank.
