Not for the first time the ad blue reminder has recently pinged up on  the display. However, this time it got me thinking – Why does it say Min 2 Gal Max 2.75 Gal? Surely VW have never used gallons in their entire existence and we in the UK have only bought 🍺 🍺 in pints or gallons for ages, certainly no motoring fluids! You buy ad blue in litres!

    Weird.

Just a guess, but most cars allow you to select the units used for measurement, such as mpg or litres per km, PSi or Bar etc. If the car is set for gallons (so that you get mpg readings) perhaps the AdBlue quantities shows as gallons?

Good thought @Glos Guy. @kbfern does your fuel consumption read in MPG or L/100k (or whatever it is the metric uses)?

For Adblue my Tiguan also shows in litres, fuel is in MPG

Ahh well, it got 10L down its throat and shut up for now. Gawd knows why it pipes up with 1500miles to go, it’s not like you have to back order the stuff from China by sea!
