hi all

new to motability and just placed an order for volvo xc40 last week.

 

was just looking for a rough idea of current wait times? volvo dealership states 2-3 months but reading online it seems to be ages.

not sure if im better off trying to find a vehicle on stock instead.

It took me 7-10 days from me ordering to get mine in September of last year.

I ordered my xc40 in mid Dec but still waiting for a delivery.  I was told 2 weeks ago it was expected in but hasn’t arrived yet. Not much communication from volvo so in limbo.

We ordered in early December (with an extra so it was built for us) and picked the car up last week. It arrived at the dealership late Feb so it was 3 months from order to collection.

Incidentally, they did handover for 20 Motability cars – mostly XC40s – last week – all on the new 25 reg.

I’m picking mine up on Friday 14th march ordered 11 October 2024 so 5 months altogether

I ordered mine on 23 October and collected on 11 February.  It was at the dealer the week before but that was the earliest he could book me in for collection.

Thank you so much, i got the paperwork from motability today and finally managed to log in and it just shows little time clock where it shows Dealer ordered vehicle 🙂 hopefully its not crazy long as some seem to wait for a year!

You will need to check with the dealer leadtimes. It doesn’t mean that the dealer has placed the order with Volvo. Guidance I have seen from other posts is to check when the build slot is for the car. I had seen posts and videos last year where dealers were putting on hold orders for ICE cars as they had to meet EV targets. So check with your dealer the order has been placed with Volvo. I had to chase them for this.

I’m collecting tomorrow morning I still have the egg timer thing on my motorbility account no doubt it will change once I’ve picked up ….this is my first car thru the scheme

I have tried to call the dealer so many times but she is never available and doesnt return my calls. We have a car we can use so we’re not in a rush, the only thing that worries me is how it works in terms of my award being 3 years from feb 2025 and how it works when it gets to the end od the award while PIP does a review.

Must say the apart from a few moans about the wait time, etc totally love our Volvo, also it was our first one on the scheme.. (all others own privately for 30yrs +)…

We extended, this is our 5th year, only a few months left now..

Thank you she is a beaut …..I feel like I have a million bees 🐝 sitting in my brain all this info and new things is a lot to take in but so far so good I may have to go indoors in abit as my back is at breaking point 🥴 roll on tomorrow when I can come back out here 😂 if my brain and back let me that is 🙄😬
