          Mine’s going in tomorrow for this.
          They’re also going to check all software plus the issue with the indicator sound going off all of the time. I keep thinking it’s knocked off and go to re-engage it. I’m worried I’ll break it!

          ? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

            @BionicRusty what’s the process , wait to be contacted or ring and book it in.

            I will be just coming out of shielding, and to be honest don’t want to be waiting around a dealership with the attitude they all to seem to have.

            “difficulty  to actually speak to eachother” ??..

                Sorry late reply guys. Hope you’re both well. I hope everyone here is.

                @ajn
                I received a letter for recall so I rang up and booked it in. I’ve asked for a car while the work is done so will drive straight home once dropped off.
                They did tell me I could wait but that I would have to wait outside!!!! (I think that deserves four exclamation marks)

                I agree with your sentiment about dealers.

                @72dudes. It’s not been in for the hard seat yet as the slot was postponed and to be honest I’ve given this a lot of thought and don’t think it will go anywhere.
                Will they replace a seat?
                I honestly think I’ll just go round in circles with it.
                I’ve already been lied to.
                I asked them to check the system for the indicator clicking sound. Mine goes off and sometimes doesn’t come on at all. This means that I go to engage it again, thinking it’s knocked off,  but it’s on. I’m honestly, mildly concerned that I’ll break the stalk.
                The response to this was. “We’ve not heard of this before.” I called the service guy out and said that I know of at least two (from forums) who have had theirs in the same dealer for this issue. There was silence in response.

                I actually checked this (indicator sound) for MOT criteria and it actually doesn’t have to be there. There needs to be only either a visual or audible warning but both are not essential.
                So even this will be a runaround of them saying it’s fine and me saying it’s not working then back to the dealer, and so on.

                Tomorrow will certainly be fun……

                It’s being a hell of a time at the moment. In and out of hospital, booked ops, cancelled ops, (for one op, I’m on my fourth pre-op now!) drugs I’ve been on for years suddenly giving some bad side effects.
                I just want a bit of peace……..

                I’m in a, ‘I don’t know whether to laugh or cry moment’. ?

                Heeeey, I’m laughing. ??

                ? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

                  Take care of yourself bionic rusty, laughing is good, releases whatever it is in the brain, I laugh at myself too, my specialist nurses get a bit cross sometimes saying you have serious problems but if that’s how you cope, it’s okay. When I have a wobbly woman moment, I ask hubby if I’m the right way up ??

                    My Xc40 went in today for this recall, I think its actually to do with the brakes on the car rather than the lights, my car was behaving very weirdly when braking to a stop and I had complained about it to my wife a day or two before being contacted by Volvo for the recall ironically. It now drives much better and way smoother and more progressive on the brakes.

                      Thanks for the update Shaine, I think I’ll just wait to be contacted, or until any thing weird happens to the car.

                        Happy Friday All.

                        The car went in yesterday and there was a mix-up with the loan car which eventually saw me in a V60. Now that was a lovely car. Anyway, the XC40 was checked and sorted for the recall.
                        I did actually ask them to look at the seat pad when I dropped it off as well as the indicator sound.
                        The reply on the seat was as expected in that it was, “it is what it is. Nothin we can do about it.” I’m going to gather myself on this to see if I can put up with it or I’ll need to sort some other way. Either way, I can see it being a battle.
                        As for the indicators, I was told, “It was fine for us.” As a side note, it didn’t do it once on the way home. Go figure.
                        I’m going to think on both points but pretty poor in my opinion. I wanted a Volvo because I’ve read so much about seat comfort but ironically, it’s the most uncomfortable car I’ve ever had.

                        @Vinnie
                        , thank you for your kind words. I absolutely agree. Sometimes all you can do is laugh. After all, it’s the best medicine, right? ?

                        @Shaine
                        , you’re spot on. The recall was due to the wiring having a possibility of chafing which could cause reduced braking function and throw up brake warning messages. It sounds like your car was affected by this.

                        @ajn
                        , assuming the screen grab you posted above is for your car, then it’s going to need to be checked. How about calling the dealer but telling them that you need the car picking up and dropping off. That way, you’ll have minimal contact.
                        Good luck.

                          Thanks for the update Bionic, the screen grab is my actual number plate on gov. , also tapped my VIN into Volvo cars and yes it’s due the recall ?, sort it out when I can, again Thanks.
