VW have announced today, that it will axe one in two m8dels from its ranfe at a cost of 100,000 jobs.

It has not yet said which models are to be axed yet.

Oliver Blume, the chief executive, said the drastic reduction in VW’s range of car models would make the company “faster, more robust and more competitive”.

Vw has 150 models from Cupra to

Lambotghini with many ranges in between.

Are VW keeping their full model range and partnerships in China and will some production eventually shift to China to be exported back like the Cura Taviscan for example.

It looks like the German trades unions are jot happy, whilst VW want to close some German plants,  but having resistance fromntte board, which has trades unions on it.

No surprises for me because most of the VW badged SUV’s are the same except for being different lengths.

Blume had said to the Unions 7 months ago that there would be no redundancies, and manufacturing industry said that was not correct.

VW must restructure or go bust.

This makes sense, take Skoda with the Enyaq and Elroq. What’s the difference? 20cm! That’s it, the Elroq is 20cm shorter than the Enyaq, the specs are almost identical after that.
