Just ordered a Vauxhall Grandland 1500 diesel automatic Ultimate trim, £1,749 AP. The AP is not too bad in the current climate for what is the top trim. The expected delivery date is 31st August 2022, according to the paperwork though the dealer told me to take no notice of that as the reality is they have no idea when it will be ready.

This is the new Grandland and replaces the outgoing Grandland X they are not in the showrooms yet, should have been last month, so we have not actually seen one.

Marc, just wondering how come you didn’t wait until the Q1 prices came out in one week? Or is this order based on the new price list?

I’ve no idea what Q1 2022 will bring but I don’t think the AP will come down, the old Grandland X is still on the scheme, but I think they have stopped making them, the AP for the petrol (no diesel on the scheme) Ultimate spec is £3,349. I think an AP of £1,749 for a car with a list price of £34,645 isn’t too bad especially the way the AP’s have gone.

It was a case of get the order in before Q1 and the possibility of the AP increasing or the car disappearing off the scheme, it’s just a gamble.

Not heard anything yet, but I’ll be happy if it’s only 6 months. Do you know if they are in the showrooms yet? Let us know if you hear anything.

I spoke with Vauxhall HQ and had a virtual tour of the Grandland last week. There is only one in the country at the moment and they expect the car to be in showrooms from the 25th Feb.

The uncertainty with the car has put us off ordering.

Was informed that some customers had ordered their Grandland last April/May so will be waiting over a year.

I’ve tried 3 Baylis showrooms which are nearest to me and none in as of yet,

Did call the dealership today for an update and been told June 26th however this will most likely change!

I’ve also just noticed the specs have changed on Vauxhall’s website to three –

    Design

    Gs Line

    Ultimate

I’m not car savvy at all, anyone know why this has changed?!

Yes it looks like the trim levels have been cut from 4 to 3 with only the Ultimate trim keeping the original name, it could be to increase production by offering less options. It also seems that the night vision camera fitted as standard on the Ultimate is now a £1,300 optional extra, it’s bizarre times when changes like this are made before the car has even hit the showrooms.

We ordered the 1.5 diesel Ultimate in blue with a black roof, which did you go for?

    Ahh that makes sense, Thankyou!

As we’ve ordered it with night vision included, will we still get it?
I’ve gone for all black, plain Jane me!

You typically get what the spec is on the day it’s built rather than on the day it’s ordered, so probably no night vision.

Looks like they have also dropped the diesel engine in the Ultimate trim.

Why is Grandland SE more expensive deposit on Motability?

I’ve also read Vauxhall and and drop spec on cars as they feel like. Is this true?

    thank you all.

You can go on the Vuaxhall website and book and extended test drive look at the new Grandland, it would seem very few dealers have any and the ones they are going to get are going on road shows around the dealerships in Feb/March.

    Hi again,

I’ve just read about a £250 payment after you take collection of vehicle? Is this new?

    Hi all, new here.
also ordered a 1.5 diesel Ultimate on the 12th Jan.

I have seen two now in different dealers, one on the vip event. Sadly both “ultimate” models that I have saw in the flesh, as it were, both lacked the electric seats & heated steering wheel.
im feeling very despondent at the moment that by the time it arrives it’ll be little more than an se model.

With the lack of electric seats I would be very wary of accepting the car without sitting in it and checking if you can get comfortable as the manual seats lack any kind of base tilt function, I had one on loan and it had the manual seats which I found dug in to the back of my thighs unless I had the seat pumped up to near full height.

Might be worth sitting in one in a showroom before your order arrives so you will know if it’s any good for you.

    Hi Gwillsxx

Yes its a new one off payment that everyone will get, new and old customers when a new car is collected.

So if you are changing over from a current car to a new one you should collect £600 GCB and the £250 so a nice and helpful £850.

If your a new customer without a Motability car you will get just the £250.

Hi Vinalspin, thank you for your reply.
It is a bit of a worry to be honest, getting comfortable is one of the most important things.
Im more concerned that a large company like Vauxhall can accept an order based on a sales brochure that clearly states those items are included & then when we see one in a showroom – they are missing. Is there not some trade description issue here ?

I also have to say that the salesman in my dealership is really not that interested in Motability & has made it clear that they only make £250 on each sale, barely covering the pdi & number plates.
Not exactly the customer service I expected. If I ring to see if there is any update on my vehicle, I feel fobbed off.

Just wondering ordered Grandland X SRI Nav in March 21 informed earlier this year that they were no longer being built so they have changed my order to Grandland GS line just wondering how much longer i am likely to be waiting as dealership had originally said build date Mar-May but now when i ring to check they say they still don’t have a build date

Hi Sara, ordered our Ultimate trim March 22 and was told not expected until July 2022 at the earliest but the dealer anticipated it would be at least September 2022 before we get it. If it comes sooner I will be happy.

However, I phoned the dealer around 3-4 weeks ago and he has no update as of yet.

I have seen 2 now on the road, so maybe starting to come through now as there are more and more 22 plate cars on the road.

    Hope that helps.
