I was pleased to learn my new Renault Austral is now in the UK and I have the VIN number.
Unfortunately when I try to add the VIN number to the MyRenault app on my iPhone, I get the following red error message:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (Gigya.NetworkError error 0.)
Anyone had a similar problem at all please?

July 31, 2024 at 11:38 pm #286022So when i picked my Austral up, the dealer asked me to download the MyRenault app and he would put the VIN in after he confirms the handover on their system.

August 1, 2024 at 12:05 pm #286037I had the same problem with my Renault Zoe and it just would not accept the VIN. It did finally but it was some weeks after I’d had the car.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll keep trying.

August 1, 2024 at 7:10 pm #286051Having the same problem myself. Dealer is very vague about the delivery time (2 weeks – 3 months) and I keep trying to get them to give me a better idea, but to no avail so far. They eventually gave me a VIN but that does nothing in the app or on the myrenault website. Feels like once you sign the order form they stop making any effort.
August 1, 2024 at 10:12 pm #286078Until the car is officially handed over and they’ve received any payments then it’s a matter of them releasing the VIN and reg plate to register on the My Renault app. Ours on the Scenic took about twenty minutes and has been great since.
I think it’s because the data contracts start on handover.
August 6, 2024 at 7:59 pm #286339Could I ask a couple of Q’s here?
Firstly, My austral is due to be picked up on 10th Sept and the dealer last week told us the car has been built and is on the way to the UK.
First Q: Can you tell me how long after the car was on it’s way to the UK, was it actually delivered to the dealership?
And secondly, what exactly does the MyRenault app give you?
Thanks in advance.

August 6, 2024 at 8:10 pm #286341Mine took just under three weeks to get from the import centre depends on transporter availability.
Not much to be honest it enables preheating and you can see the charge etc but no locking or unlocking or seeing if it is locked. On the plus side, I have to say been very impressed with the Renault aftercare had a phone call from the concierge service just to check if everything was okay and whether we needed any further help with any of the cars’ functions. Had a couple of niggles with getting preheating to work but everything seems great so far (Scenic e-tech)
August 6, 2024 at 8:34 pm #286343Quite frustrated with my dealer. Ordered the car on the 20th and they said it could be here in 2 weeks (also that it could be longer, but who listens the the worst estimate?) Since the order went through I have been trying to get tracking from them without any success. Have logged into the my Renault website with my email address and my wife’s (not sure which they used for the order) and neither shows an order. That’s why I was interested in the VIN number as they gave me that. But if that wont work till we have the car I don’t see the point in them giving it to me now.
Have emailed two different people at the dealers today, the “Product Genius” who we have been communicating with, and the Motability specialist. No reply. If I don’t hear tomorrow I will start getting cross and considering taking my order to another dealer.
August 6, 2024 at 9:56 pm #286346For “paying” customers the app lets you track your car from factory to dealership. Lease companies like Motability don’t get the ability. Basically you’re stuck with vague updates from the dealership.

Renault AustralAugust 6, 2024 at 10:04 pm #286347Must say since day one our dealer kept us up to date with exactly where the car was and also release dates from the import centre and any hold-ups along the way ie. it was at the import centre but no driver to take it onwards.
August 6, 2024 at 11:41 pm #286356My current car, a VW Tiguan Allspace 2019, I had tracking from the very start to the moment it arrived at the dealership. I don’t see why being a Motability customer would mean we are afforded any lesser treatment.
August 6, 2024 at 11:48 pm #286359This is supported by very few manufacturers now VW included saves giving false hope I suppose.
August 11, 2024 at 5:00 pm #286678The app from my experience didn’t give you much so I wouldn’t worry too much unless you’re prone to forgetting where you parked, then it’s a life saver.

At least that’s some comfort. I’ve now seen on other forums that the MyRenault app is a bit lacking in the information stakes. I’m still in my Corolla TS for another two weeks yet and the MyToyota app does have a few more options, will miss it.
