Had a look at the BZ4X at the weekend and have to say I was quite impressed. Very comfy and hubby says it was fun to drive, so now think we will go with one of these instead of the Enyaq. In a way I’m quite pleased with this unknown around the Enyaq, will it be the same, will it go up etc? So it made me think, need to look at other cars, fate maybe, I don’t know but it’s certainly a choice.

Wondering if anyone else has looked at the Toyota and what they thought?

        I did, sort of.

Thought that at 1.65m it would be ideal, but simply couldn’t get into it due to the very raised floor causing a lack of access height.

I’m 6′ 5″ and just couldn’t bend far enough to get my head in the door opening!.  No problem with the Enyaq and even a Kia Niro was manageable due to its shape and that’s only 1.585m tall!.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Been out in it twice absolute bargain but just so big body size ! Pure just £250 with £750 off and motion just £1250 with £750 off which I went in so quiet fantastic ride all the goodies etc wish body was smaller ! Looks fab in silver poor range in winter but of course varies on the driving style etc wish the pure at £250 had parking sensors

Thanks Phaedra, but we’re not so tall, I’m 5’5” and hubby 5’8”, so we didn’t have that problem, yet our kids and grandkids are tall, varying from just under 6’ to over 6’, so must have fed them well!! Going to have another test drive and go from there.

Agree Menorca Mike, was a fantastic ride, but didn’t find it big bodied. Called it a “gangster” car as we decided we could both get in the boot! Silver does look good, looking at the vision model as we like the toys, but more to do with needing leather, even if faux, to slide across.

Had a good look round in the showroom and quite liked it

Massive in the rear and good boot space.

Great value AP at the moment too!

Didn’t like the strange instrument binacle in front of the driver, reminded me of a 90s hand held computer game controller!

I found it very weird to!

They also spoiled it with to much plastic round the arches and on the bonnet.

May be out of date information, or just plain wrong but I’m sure I saw somewhere at some point (vague enough for ya?) that all motability cars do come with parking sensors as standard.

I didn’t know that Colin it has rear camera but I’d be worried due to size of car I may reverse into other car in surgery or Tesco carpark  ?

I’m sure the top all wheel drive doesn’t have the range as the pure or motion ?

I empahsize, it’s the vaguest of vague recollections – might even have been something on here, but I seem to remember a thread where someone talked someone else out of paying extra for parking sensors on the grounds that they came standard on all motability cars, but that the dealers would quite happily take the money if they could.

Been on the scheme a little over 7 years at this point so really can’t narrow down the timeframe much, not can I comment on the accuracy of the original post(s)

By the way the Toyota dealer near me couldn’t confirm if the pure had folding door mirrors ? It has keyless

Ford used to say parking sensors included as standard on Motability orders.

Hopefully, had an exam and a new cast put on on Wednesday, doc wasn’t too positive about long term damage.

Had to go back again today as the cast was constantly  hitting the bone on my wrist and causing a lot of pain.  They did a new cast with extra padding.  Using patient transport so a 2hr wait this morning to get there and about an hour waiting to come back.

In other news my HA asked me to clarify exactly what I wanted and if they would have to pay for anything!.  I explained the KerboCharge gully was being fitted by the council and I’m paying for it, and again, all I want is permission to have the charger (which Motability are paying for)  fitted to an outside wall.  Once again they’re going to get back to me!.

Finally heard from the accident solicitors, only 3yr and 5 months since the accident!,  Less their fee, £800 for physio, £200 for post accident insurance etc and £2K6 for the neurologists report (as they didn’t think they could use it) I’ll probably end up with well under £20K, about half of what they originally said I’d get.  It’ll certainly pay the AP for the new car and another week in Majorca next year with my friends (if I dare!) and my kids will get the rest.

Hope you’re soon okay Phaedra, broken bones aren’t a good thing any time. My daughter fell down stairs 20 years ago, snapped her foot off her leg, it’s all pinned and plated but she still gets bother with it, especially in winter, take care of yourself.

I enquired of my local mobility fitter, as I need a 40 kg hoist fitted for my wheelchair, and they told me that the only two ev cars, so far, they know are okay, are the Enyaq and Bz4x, they have fitted one to the Enyaq and looked at the Toyota. They also said they thought the Megane was okay too as the battery was fa4 enough away from the nearside corner of the boot, hope this helps Kevin.
