Winston@anneka haha atleast we’ve survived to tell a few tales eh lol
with regards to the running boards, they would be fitted at your dealership and not at the factory , so that’s something you would need to arrange with your dealer, maybe even see if you can get a wee deal from them ✋?
Yeah for 40 quid you can’t go wrong with the red callipers! And stops them getting all rusty a year or so down the line ??
ha, I’m def getting my windows tinted aswell, with the pano sunroof they are just not dark enough! So it’s good you’ve picked up on that too!
i was surprised that on the windscreen there is no slight tint at the very top, I thought on a high trim level car we would have one but nope not he case
so Ill get one fitted when I do the rear windows , as it’s really annoying , the sun visor doesn’t block out all the sun. Something that will be even more annoying with the low winter sun
did you go for any other options?
October 26, 2019 at 11:08 am #93659I have read this on the Tiguan forum next year the Tiguan will have a facelift, I have also noticed the V6 Diesels are now using 8 speed DSG transmissions?

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

Anneka@winston sorry for the delay I’m new to how you see replies etc
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Still unsure about the running boards might have the car without first and see how I get on.

I asked my dealer if they could order darker tints like what comes on the golf as they’re very dark and it’s only for the golf or something silly even though it’s a factory order.I didnt go for any options apart from the Oryx paint but have been trying to get hold of my dealer for nearly 3wks now with no call back or response to email as I would like to add the following
Emergency Assist including Side Assist Plus with rear traffic alert, and Traffic Jam Assist
– DSG gearbox onlyAs the car I test drove had this so I assumed it was standard aswell as the salesman banging on about to only just realise it’s not even standard on the R-Line tech. Going to try the dealer again as my order is still with the factory so I believe I could just add this on hopefully eekkk I order 7/9/2019 still no change so I don’t even know when I’m likely to get the car. How long did yours take to arrive?
October 31, 2019 at 9:43 am #94489
AnnekaI thought a new Tiguan or facelift wasn’t due till 2022 or something like that according to the dealer. I would of possibly waited to renew my pip as I only have 12mth remaining, but then again my health hasn’t got any better hence me now ordering a motability car so late on in my award
October 31, 2019 at 11:00 am #94508
WinstonNo worries Anneka, sometimes I miss replies or forget to check back on a thread I had a commented on, I’m sure it happens to us all lol
yeah that’s a good idea about the running boards , they aren’t exactly cheap and can be fitted at anytime once you collect your
you def won’t miss them! My pal just collected a R Line Tech last week and whilst I think they add a nice look to it they have absolutely no real benefit for getting in and out, purely aesthetics I’d say
as far as facelifts go they always usually make slight changes to a car each year, some very subtle and every couple of years a bigger and more obvious change , they call these facelifts or A mid life refresh , but there won’t be a whole new Tiguan Mk3 for a good few years yet! so I think the best thing to do is just order the car you like and enjoy it and the moment
time doesn’t stand still so there’ll always be a new reg, new tweak here n there over the years
I’m sure you’ll be able to order some extra options if you actually get a hold of your dealer ?, id call 20 times today if I had to lol
i think mines was about 3 to 3 n half’s months from my order date, so not too long at all, it feels like it’s dragging in at times but before you know it you’ll be driving about town with your arm hanging out the window , sunroof open and music blaring away ?

Dave hI ordered mine 28th july had call today it’s being built next week Anneka and i think they have factory shut down in august so you have a rough idea to how long it takes
November 1, 2019 at 12:14 am #94606
AnnekaTook your advice Winston called the dealer again and he said his system shows that car is possibly built in December eekkkk I have added the emergency assist aswell.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>dealer won’t offer any discounts saying the dealer Roger works at can’t be making much money at all with what they doing as he only makes £100 on a sale of a motability car. But waits to tell me this today and I’ve been asking since I placed my order 7/09 but he has agreed to lower the Ap price down to the £2199 as it’s dropped this mth.

@Dave thank you I hope mine comes as quick as both of yours did. Can’t wait to get my hands on it indeedDecember 17, 2019 at 10:50 pm #100332
AnonymousJust a wee heads up. Found these on E-bay
What do you think the chances of them fitting properly??
David
December 18, 2019 at 8:49 am #100363The rear ones look ok but the fit on the front is terrible – definitely a case of a generic mudflap they are claiming fits, not one specifically designed for the car

AnonymousI’m going to give them a go, nothing to lose really on Ebay returns .
I cannot understand why they aren’t a stock item??
December 22, 2019 at 8:18 am #100998

December 24, 2019 at 7:35 am #101219
Anneka@smithy happy days that is a very quick turn around I can’t wait for mine either I’m currently in a Mercedes b class but due to my health getting worse I defo need a suv now for the height, not sure I’ll get mine before March even though I placed order 7/9 then on 29/11 received a build date for second week of Jan 2020 eekkk
December 24, 2019 at 5:31 pm #101272
WinstonNot long to go Anneka, I was siting in my R Line tech 2/3 weeks after it was built
so we are getting there ??
December 25, 2019 at 2:45 am #101305
Anneka@winston I’m so impatient but I feel that if that leads into Feb I will just wait for a 20 plate reg and miss the funny 69 lol
hope u all have a fabulous Xmas
December 25, 2019 at 12:28 pm #101328
Winston@anneka that’s 4 months away ????
what if you get a call to say it’s ready mid feb? ?
itw nice having the newest plate on the road , I get that, but believe me sooner rather than later you’ll be at the lights and it’s September and the newest one rolls by you lol
but what’s even nicer is the lovely new car you want, all the stress and anxiety or waiting gone in a flash! And… hopefully a bit of relief with your medical conditions compared to the old car ??
December 26, 2019 at 8:49 am #101388
AnnekaWait wait wait I think I’m a little confused is new plates not released the 1st March?
<span style=”text-align: right;”>i think if they called me mid Feb I would say I’ll wait 2 wks I’ve been waiting since September so the extra 2wks won’t really bother me I think lol
your right about the plates though cars are been turnt out so much that I see a 17 plate as brand new ??? plus I do have a private plate aswell anyway so my plate will only been seen for a wk or so until I’m allowed to apply it to the car.
I do hope the car helps but I would prefer to be healed ? and have my old life before that I truly didn’t appreciate but after seeing my oncologist Xmas eve his put me on a downer but I’m trying to stay positive and not so morbid.
Atm all I keep seeing is new Audi Q3s and Range Rover evoques which I love keep thinking have I made the right choice with the motability route as it’s my first 1 but I’ve always owned my cars until this point bit scared due to PIP holding all the power
December 26, 2019 at 9:01 am #101390
WinstonYeah I was talking ???
obv my brain was focused on the upcoming Christmas Dinner sorry ??
3 months not 4 lol, so if I got a call mid feb I’d hold off
ive also got a private plate, you can arrange for the dealer to have those fitted for your collection on the Mota one , saves faffing about once you collect it
I’m sorry to hear you got some bad news recently! All I can say is our fingers n paws are crossed for you that you have a happy and healthy 2020!
December 26, 2019 at 9:58 am #1013942 months and 6 days until the “20” registration plates come out so not that long to wait, I don’t know what it is about the september plates but they never seem “new” to me even the “66” plate I got on the 30th Jan, just an illusion I guess.
December 26, 2019 at 10:53 am #101401
AnnekaVery precise love it ? so it’s not long at all. Ty
I know what u mean about the Sept plates though just seems a little off as it doesn’t reflect when the car was registered via the plate.
I would say any1 ordering a vw I would not use the Birmingham Middleway 1 as the sales person said 3 mths after ordering although his paperwork stated build date Jan and expected delivery March 2020 he claims he sets the dates to the longest dates the system allows and prefers to bring them forward that was a lie as my car is on schedule as per paperwork he just wanted me to order ASAP I guess.
December 26, 2019 at 10:59 am #101402
AnnekaXmas dinner went down a treat then Winston lovely to hear lol
With how this dealer is I don’t even know if they would give me the option to hold off eeekkk probably try to get me to have it ASAP for their sales figures for Feb.
If my memory serves me right I think I read somewhere when u get ur first motability car you have to wait a week or two before applying the plate ? I would prefer the car with my plate on.
Thank you for ur kind words as per I wish us all a healthy and more positive 2020 ?

SeanHello Winston.
Your car looks great . Hopefully ordering one next month but just wondering did you have to pay much extra for the running boards as they really make the car .
December 26, 2019 at 2:51 pm #101423
WinstonHi Sean,
im sure the running boards were £660 , so not exactly cheap ?
but as the car is offered at a great price ( in my eyes ) and comes with so much kit as standard , then you factor in the Jct600 discount , the good condition bonus it left me with some of my budget left to add a few options, the running boards, the Oryx white and upgraded Dynadio Sound system , I might end up keeping that car for 5 years so why not
another thing about those running boards, they are mine so before I hand the car back I’ll take it to a local garage and get them removed then I’ll be able to sell them a recoup a few hundred bucks ( well that’s the plan anyways )
I ordered the running boards at the time of order, but they are fitted by the dealer once the car is in the UK, and not at the manufacturing stage
if you want them, them get them mate! That’s my advice ??
December 26, 2019 at 2:59 pm #101426
Jim SmythI love lights too Winston shame the fog lights are old halogen bulbs and come on when turning. Really takes the look off the car IMHO. Hopefully VW will address this in the facelift.
December 26, 2019 at 3:20 pm #101431
WinstonThe halogen fog lights don’t come when turning Jim, not sure what made you think that?
but I’ll agree halogen lights are pants, and no doubt a cost cutting exercise when the car was being developed!
thankfully it doesn’t take the look off the car because if I ever need to drive in the fog ( not happened yet ) with them turned on no one will be able to see me lol
