BrentDoes anyone know what’s likely to happen if we’ve ordered a jungle green kona?
Still waiting on mine, but the dealer hasn’t mentioned anything about the change. Will hyundai likely fulfill all orders that had that colour before it was discontinued?
November 25, 2022 at 2:30 pm #201348Hi Brent – simple answer – I don’t know – I received my car – misty jungle end of July – I understand misty jungle and jungle green are the same thing – but getting a sense of the last person to receive that colour on this forum maybe a starting point.
Good luck ?November 25, 2022 at 2:42 pm #201349Does anyone know what’s likely to happen if we’ve ordered a jungle green kona? Still waiting on mine, but the dealer hasn’t mentioned anything about the change. Will hyundai likely fulfill all orders that had that colour before it was discontinued?
Hi Brent, I ordered my car in January and received it in June and it was pretty quick. Dealer said its a rare colour but but normally got delivered quicker for some reason. It’s a be colour and depending on lighteither looks grey or green.

TimWell, we collected our Kona on Tuesday ? exactly 9 months to the day from ordering. What I would say for those that are suffering, it is well worth the wait! Sorry to hear the delays and confusion continue, our dealer said that misty jungle green ? was one of the reasons our car was delayed as it’s not a normal colour but who knows ??♂️ we are still getting used to it but as I say, it’s so worth the wait and perseverance ????
November 26, 2022 at 9:25 am #201379Good to hear a happy conclusion Tim – I have misty jungle too – different light different shades of grey through green.
As you say well worth the wait – I got mine end of July and loving it.
Enjoy your car ???November 26, 2022 at 9:29 am #201380Definitely worth the wait and interestingly if we had plumped for an ID.3 I would still be waiting for a build date over a year after ordering! In fact I would have switched to the MG4 EV instead. Still thinkbyhe Kona is head and shoulders above its rivals, especially in the all important range.
November 26, 2022 at 10:06 am #201383When I ordered my Kona on 10/8/22 there was some confusion as one part of the system said “jungle green” was available but another part of system did not list it. We went ahead and ordered (“jungle green” is Pearl paint that is grey/green and changes in different lighting/angles and sounds like it is also referred to as “misty jungle”?)
On 19/8/22 I was told “jungle green” was no longer available. I was busy at the time and did not reply with new colour chose straight away so on the 24/8/22 the dealer said below which I was happy with ?
“As mentioned, we can no longer order the Jungle Green. I remember from the day of order with myself that you were torn between the jungle green and the cyber grey. As we can’t order the green anymore, we have ordered the cyber grey for you. Hope this is okay, any issues please let me know. ”

DebsDear All
So my battle with my dealership commences …
It would be really helpful if anyone who ordered their Kona after I did (16 April 2022) and has either received their car or had confirmation of an approximate delivery date could let me know. My dealer is taking the stance that as the car has been withdrawn from the scheme, they won’t honour my order.
Thank you in advance
Debs x
November 26, 2022 at 4:46 pm #201397That definitely should not be the case. There are people who ordered others car’s which were subsequently withdrawn who still got them. Some waited a year for an ID.3 and some are still waiting even though VW pulled it from Motability last winter. If the dealer is raking this stance, speak to motability or call Hyundai customer service on the freephone number a few posts up. They will give you the car’s status.
November 26, 2022 at 7:19 pm #201398All good advice and info fwippers – a good honest rep can make a big difference, that you don’t always appreciate at the time.
I hope you get a good outcome Debs – certainly worth acting on fwippers advice – keep chasing – polite firm and persistent is the way to go ?November 27, 2022 at 6:51 am #201399Hi Debs
I am really sorry to hear about your situation, it must be very frustrating having lost all that time and still being no closer to getting your car.
You have said that Motability “can’t find me on their system”. As other have pointed out it appears that you placed the order with the dealer, but the dealer then failed to correctly place the order with Hyundai / Motability before the deadline and the best way to procced depends on what paperwork / evidence you have. Which of the following do you have?
Receipt from dealer for pacing the order
Order Number (will begin 1011)
Any other paperwork or emails from the dealer, Hyundai or Motability about the order?I believe the Kona was removed from the scheme on 27/8/22, if your order was placed before that time it should be honoured regardless of the fact it was later withdrawn.
If you have any written confirmation or good evidence that the order was placed in April then you have a case worth fighting for. Citizen’s advice bureau may be able to help you. However, I know it this may not be what you want to hear, but if you cannot find paperwork confirming that your order was placed, I suspect you may struggle and maybe best to start looking at alternatives (I think MG4 is the closest thing on the Motability Scheme currently available and I have heard good things about the car (also appears shorter wait times than other EV’s))
Hope it all get sorted for you.

AnthonyHi,
Just wondered if anyone has bought and fitted a trunk to their Kona Ultimate and would you recommend it.
November 27, 2022 at 8:23 am #201404
BonzosboyI ordered my Kona Premium 64kw in Jungle green on 02/05/22 was told Sept then move to Nov then Feb/23 now the latest I have been told is March 23 so looking like 10months unless it is moved again.
November 27, 2022 at 8:45 am #201408Good morning all – not sure what you mean by a trunk Anthony – the boot is quite small – I decided to have carpets fitted in the passenger areas but not the boot – what I have done is fit a simple organiser from back seat – below is a picture to show how I organised for the summer – really to help me remember where I had put stuff – hopefully this will be of some help.
November 27, 2022 at 10:06 am #201413I believe Anthony is referring to a “Frunk”. Simply a box fitted in the front where a normal combustion engine would be.
November 27, 2022 at 10:39 am #201415Hi Carmad – I was aware of the frunk – but understand it was a limited space and the Kona wasn’t fitted with a box as standard.
Is the photo your car or just an example – is anyone using the front space for storage and if so what box did you fit and how.November 27, 2022 at 11:20 am #201416<p style=”text-align: left;”>Further to my last post – just been looking into this on YouTube – should have done it first ?.
Given box fitting kit is best part of £100 and you need to take the cover off the top of motor – I’m not sure Motability would be ok with it unless it was done by garage – thus increasing cost again.
Looks like I have answered my own question</p>

AnthonyTrunk are a plastic box fitted in place of the plastic cover over the engine in the front. It enables you to add additional storage to the car by moving the cables etc stored in the boot to the trunk at the front of the car(bonnet). I’ve seen them on you tube and on ebay and was wondering about buying one for when our Kona Ultimate arrives in March/April (hopefully).
if anyone has bought and fitted one could you let me know if they are worth the approx £80 to purchase.
November 27, 2022 at 11:28 am #201412Hi Anthony
By Trunk do you mean Frunk? For those that don’t know despite the Kona EV not coming with a Frunk there is plenty of space under the bonnet for one. Great for storing cables, etc out the way….
You need to remove a plastic cover (above inverter?). Apparently, it’s safe and does not get hot but I suggest you do you own research… Is plenty of information if you look on YouTube / Google for “Kona frunk”. There are a number of DIY or aftermarket solutions eg.
Expensive (£166 inc shipping, 47 Litres)
https://www.evaccessoriesireland.com/product-page/hyundai-kona-front-storage-boxDIY
If you have access to 3d Printer you can print the mounts (eg https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4065215) and buy box from Wilko for about a £5….You can also get Bonnet Gas Springs / stuts for about £25 so bonnet stays open without having to mess with the normal bar to keep it open. (Link from my previous research no longer works but sure are plenty of options)

Approximately 7 months if accurate...November 27, 2022 at 12:11 pm #201426I looked at a couple of YouTube as well – if I were fitting one I think I would want to know it was ok by Motability – I have never had to make any alterations to my Motability cars as yet, but suspect Motability would want it done professionally.

desI can’t remember who I’m replying to but I believe it’s the person with the wind deflectors. Tbh my driving just appears to be the same as most in here and I’m still only getting 240 for a full charge. I just believe now that those getting in around 300 are driving super conservatively as I’ve tried it all and never go over 260.
A strange one the other day was a drive I do often and only gets about 3.3 this time got 5.9. same drive of mix motorway and main city roads. The fan set at 1 and temp 21 with radio on. Only difference was it was 9 degrees out side which was fairly colder than the last few times I drove the same route. So I can’t understand the big difference in range.
I’m not going to get caught up in it as 240 is good. But it would be nice to get 300 lol.
Ps an old car of mine had wind deflectors and I wasn’t to keen on them tbh.
PPS my local dealership had another new unwrapped Kona ev sitting outside the other day so that’s three new ones over the last few months. I’d love to know where he’s pulling them from as folk on here seem to be waiting on there’s.

desI should have added that sometime this week I’m going to empty the car of everything, including the child seat, loose change and junk lying in the boot. Check tyre pressure, get a dry day and go on a drive of motorway at 60mph, A & B roads at 40 mph and city driving around 20mph and drive as conservatively as possible with lights off, no heat, radio and see if I can get over 6 for the whole journey. About 40 mile motorway, 10 mile A&B and 2 mile stop start city driving.
November 27, 2022 at 1:47 pm #201431Hi des – I am Mr wind deflectors – they are useful to clear steamed up windows quickly with windows cracked open – maybe first mile at the most – I have auto regen on all the time and rarely use a/c – I live just outside the M25 so traffic is mostly busy – I don’t drive slowly – just go with the flow of the traffic – so no point in hard acceleration or braking.
We haven’t had a frost yet so temperature could be a factor. There was an occasion where I had fan on and wasn’t aware of it – I always have music on from phone. But it did lower the miles.
So I would definitely have auto regen on and let it do the braking down to under 10mph and don’t accelerate hard when a gradual catch up to traffic flow works.
If I’m cold a/c goes on and I max speed limits where I can.Good luck with your trip – hopefully it will give you a better understanding – tho I would be doing 65 on motorways – it seems to be the sweet spot ?
