RobbieYes we ordered in May, an ultimate. We knew it was a 9-12 months wait from this and other forums before we ordered, but at the time there was no urgency – the cars for my wife and we also have a private Tiguan. We were suprised to be quoted November by the dealer and he showed us the Hyundai expected delivery sheet too. Anyway its not here as we suspected in November, we always assumed it’d be at least the New Year, fingers crossed it will be a 72 reg though! At least the charge point was fitted quickly.

Have you tried contacting Hyundai customer services? They’ve been helpful in getting information on build and expected delivery dates. Hope you get some information soon.

NevilleInformed this morning that my car has been delivered to the dealer, checked and insured. It only remains for it to be valeted and charged. Ordered on 2 April, original delivery was 2 October so a delay of 6 weeks in the present state of delivery is not too bad. I just wish the dealers would keep us informed about progress of our orders. I have read on here that others have experienced poor dealer service. Anyway, getting excited and apprehensive to collect my car on Friday.

BrentDid you order the ultimate or premium, neville?
November 17, 2022 at 12:17 am #200662Ordered my Ultimate in the middle of April this year, I got told by my dealers that it had arrived, 6 days earlier than estimate, and would be available this week. I was so looking forward to collecting it today and as I arrived at the dealers, I spotted the registration number I had been given to discover, to my horror, that they had ordered wrong colour, disappointed does not begin to express how I feel. Can’t be ordered in the right colour as the Kona is no longer on the scheme, even if it was, I don’t fancy waiting another 7 months. Got some free car mats though.
For those who have their order numbers, I found this site today:

NevilleI ordered the premium in grey. The dealer said that some colours were cut through faster than others and mine was one of the faster colours.
November 17, 2022 at 5:37 pm #200756has anyone had any luck with that beta site for order tracking? it does not recognise my 101 number
i ordered a phantom black premium at the end of may current eta from the dealer is late march its a long wait but really like the plastic panels match on the black

DeanPreviously, my order for Kona Electric Ultimate has slipped numerous times from my January 2022 order. Latest I heard was 3rd January 2022 docking at Tilbury, with dealer mid January.
Heard today from Hyundai (via Twitter DM) that ship is due to dock at Tilbury “soon”, with delivery to the dealer “early December”.
So the date has moved forward a month. I assume the last update I was given had additional time baked in (2 months to sail to UK from S Korea, when 4 weeks is normal transit time) given that the date had already slipped at least 4 times. Even so, a good feeling to know it’ll be here within a couple of weeks!
November 18, 2022 at 9:07 pm #200894Evening all – glad to know more of you are close to getting your cars ?.
Charged car today – it had dropped to just under 200 miles left – I unplugged it about 30 mins ago – interestingly in the last 10 mins before I unplugged it it dropped from 349 to 337 – I assume as the temperature dropped – will be interested to see what it reads tomorrow morning – it is meant to drop to around 4 – 5c tonight.
My first real observation of how temperature affects the battery.
So wouldn’t be surprised if it dipped under 300 by 7am tomorrow morning.November 18, 2022 at 11:00 pm #200898
desMy last 1100 miles have returned 3.3 mile per KW.
Either I’m doing something wrong or the car is doing something wrong.

Well on Sunday I am off to London, returning Monday or Tuesday. The most recent 25 miles covered has been achieved at 3.7 miles per kWh and with the return trip around 250/260 miles its highly likely a top will be needed. Heating and demisting uses a fair bit of battery. I will post next week with the results and am hoping preconditioning and pre heating the cabin will help a little, and with speed restrictions on the M3 and M25, who knows.

I’m having the same thoughts, have I got a dud? Everything set to zero, done my first 100 miles and I am only getting 4 miles per kWh just town driving. I am still getting used to regen braking, first electric car, so I have been faffing with the regen settings, oh how I wish it would remember my preference, and I am still using the foot brake sometimes.
I am charging it to 100% at home tonight so I can see the total range, I am going for a trip out tomorrow, we will see how it performs then.
November 19, 2022 at 8:48 am #200915Morning all – during the summer I seemed to be getting slightly less than some – but now I seem to be getting slightly more.
Des – my settings – I have car almost always in eco – I find this more than able to cope with quick lane changes traffic lights and roundabouts I have auto regen on – I find this works well – I have fitted wind deflectors allowing me to crack open windows – even in the rain – clears any misting efficiently without use of a/c.
I have the ultimate so heated seats if cold – I haven’t needed any a/c heat yet. I am no geek so wouldn’t hesitate to use it if I was cold – music almost permanently on.
Yesterday did just over 20 miles local – fastest road 50mph – not especially busy – returned 4.9.
I would definitely recommend wind deflectors – they work well.
I hope this helps some of you ?November 19, 2022 at 9:10 am #200916Meant to mention – further to my last but one post – no change in battery over night.
Just got back from early local shop – distance just over 5 miles return 4.8.
I find journeys under 8 miles almost always return less than journeys over 10 – fast motorways 70+ excluded.November 19, 2022 at 11:13 am #200942The range I believe will be calculated using recent energy efficiency and other factors. Mine should show 330 tomorrow morning, but with 240 motorway miles plus 20 in urban traffic, I know the actual range will be sub 300. The more we use the cars the more we will get used to how they work. Saw a You Tube video and the Ioniq and Kona came 2nd and 3rd in an efficiency test, the SEAT mii came top, but it’s a tiny car. The likes of the Cupra Born and MG4 etc were a good 20% less efficient.

AnthonyOrder a Kona E Ultimate on 25th August 2022 in dark grey or black happy with either colour. Initially told delivery would be mid February 2023, now told it’s been put back to mid March. Our dealership sends updates every month and seems confident that mid March delivery is achievable. I will be happy if it arrives before Easter.
Had a Easee home charger installed October lust need the car to turn up. Current cat Kia Sportage.November 21, 2022 at 6:44 pm #201082
NigelHi Anthony
Ordered my premium same time as you.
I checked with Hyundai and was advised it would be landing in uk mid April
November 21, 2022 at 6:45 pm #201083
DeanLatest update from Hyundai – ship will not now arrive “soon”, it will be 23rd December.
Car will not be with dealer “early December”, it’ll be 18th January 2023.
This ONE DAY after telling me I’d get it in December.
Hyundai make great cars, but their customer service is very, very poor indeed.
November 21, 2022 at 8:25 pm #201092Just returned from London. In total 276 miles, 240 on motorways, up to 68mph with heating on etc. Remaining range 7 (46) miles. Actual remaining was 46 miles as I wanted to try a fast charger so added 39 miles. I have to say 283 miles on fast roads in cold conditions is pretty good going. In reality if I had not charged I wouldn’t have taken a 7 mile detour to McDonald’s and I would have capped the speed at 62. I have to say I remain hugely impressed with this car, and the fast charger, using the Octopus app, a piece of cake.
November 21, 2022 at 9:29 pm #201094I am very impressed with the Kona and have test driven the Ultimate …. However, I have to say that I recently enjoyed a weekend away in Brixham Devon, and had a fairly economic and totally stress free drive in my Peugeot hybrid. I’m not denying that you guys who have Kona’s get superb mileage figures, but I have to say that on my return journey through a hugely impressive downpour I was so pleased that I didn’t have to consider a stop for a recharge.
I applaud Kona owners, but my disabilities mean that I need to know that my journeys will be seamless. I will happily pay a premium to guarantee this.
November 21, 2022 at 9:59 pm #201096It’s very much horses for courses. Today I discovered several fast chargers, and having done a couple of long trips, have no range anxiety. My fast charger of choice has a costa coffee or KFC within the charging station plus mini supermarket. I added 16% in 14 mins, the only downside, 75p per kWh, 10 times more than Octopus Go faster, but once in a while and for the convenience definitelyworth it. The extra 39 miles we’ll worth it, overwisewould have returned home with around 3 or 4% remaining battery. I always want an extra 30 miles. Of course I could have turned off the heater, maxed out the top speed at 60 etc, but it’s about getting from A to B as quickly and comfortably as possible and a cold cabin is not comfortable or indeed good for the boby of general health. Those of us who have Kona’s know the car is capable of long ranges and is extremely efficient. This latest trip was a repeat of the trip I made in August. Then the range was around 330, this time around 285.
November 22, 2022 at 9:41 am #201107I agree with everything you have said fwippers – as you say horses for courses.
I have yet to do my longest route – 250 miles – but that will involve charging at destination and although I could charge at my sons house it would be 3 pin and slow – but certainly doable if required. So I have yet to do this and acquire the confidence of no problems.
My overall average since getting the car in late July has now dropped from 5.2 to 5.0 – if it is 4.5 or more by end of March I will be happy – time will tell. - AuthorReplies
