Apparently the vehicles are assigned when the ship is going up the West coast of Africa.
Eagerly awaiting the VIN number to be assigned. Its only 4 weeks away from delivery when that happens.

Just a shame motability/Tesla can’t come up with a solution, but the keyboard warriors would have a field day
People just don’t understand how the scheme works
Also the blue badge parking ranting in social media starting to have an impact
I remember parking next to a Maserati displaying a blue badge in a hospital car park a few years ago,the drivers mother was the badge holder who attending an appointment,god knows how the morons would have reacted to that

The Tesla App, on Lex section just pinged a delivery estimate of 21st Aug to 18th Sept.
Hope yours is good as well…
Given the ship takes 4-6 Weeks from Shanghai, then maybe drop off at Zeebrugge then on to Portsmouth.
I reckon the ship has just departed Shanghai.
Just checked no change yet

All paperwork etc completed during the first week of ordering just waiting on the Shanghai Giga factory to pull it’s finger out

Selenium greyIndeed, Tesla were swamped with orders with the UK deal. Apparently the Shanghai factory has capacity, its just the avalanche of orders has pushed the delivery logistics out of whack.
The date range that was on the App, 21st Aug-15th Sept.
Has gone?
I dont know it its a good or bad thing, the cars are either coming sooner or maybe later than their estimate.
My original delivery estimate hasn’t been visible for a few weeks no sign of the Vin number
Been checking in TOST app not much info tbh
Just keeping an eye on the cohort started e#1of1 2 weeks ago now at a#5of 5 there is an AI bot who explains it but not very informative
Still got until 04/10/2026 before handing back current mobility car
Been getting qoutes for insurance coming in around £550
Not yet tried to get Gap insurance which a lot of people have during a private lease

I logged in to Tesla using a browser, it verified ok.
But it brought up the order, Model 3 and a number after it. We are used to seeing our order number beginning RN… But this was a different number?
There must be something happening in the background.
I do not know what you mean by gap insurance?
I.ll insure the car, take delivery and once its in my grubby hands, i.ll phone Mota next day for return of their vehicle.
Gap insurance is a policy to cover any shortfall in the difference between the insurance payout and the value of the car in the event of a write off,or that’s what I’ve been led to believe
Quick look at quotes it’s reasonable
Not everyone one takes it out tbh,the only thing that they insist on is fully comp insurance

Sounds like an essential. I’ve always owned my own cars and I’ve never had to make a claim in 33 years, and here’s the big ‘but’, but what if I did get wrote off and get landed with a big bill.
First if there is a big shortfall I don’t have thousands lying about to pay it, then more thousands to get back on the road. Obviously I’m talking about if I took on a private brand new lease and not an oul run around. If I leave the scheme and go down the lease route it would only be to stay with a BEV. But I think I would be happy with a second hand ICE
Ps. I’ve loved all my oul run arounds and they have served me well tbh.

Sounds very reasonable and worth it. Because 10 years down the line there will be a big payout for being mis-sold gap insurance.
Worth getting it as it’ll cover excess payments too for minor dings and dents

September dates will be just about right for us as our Peugeot goes back October 4th
