May 1, 2026 at 8:56 pm #354577Nice one @kezo
Lex Autolease, am still waiting on approval and at busy times it can take a week.
But I reckon they are way over their heads as a lot of people are going for the Tesla deal.

Selenium greyMay 4, 2026 at 10:24 am #354655Very tempting indeed, just had an insurance quote £770 with nil NCB and a North Wales postcode but with some proof of claim free driving on the scheme might get a better deal hopefully
Will be looking at a test drive soon to check how easy getting in and out of the car will be and boot space should be adequate for the wheelchair
Just hope it doesn’t come with a MAGA hat

Selenium greyMay 4, 2026 at 11:30 am #354656Log in to your motability account go to Insurance and then log into Direct Line motabiliy.
Under one of the tabs ‘Documents’ maybe? There is a button for requesting your No Claims Bonus letter. It takes about 3 weeks to get to you.
My quote with 5 years ncb on a model 3 was £600.

Selenium greyMay 5, 2026 at 4:24 pm #354920Mines is off the west coast of Africa sailing up past Tenerife, it’s due in Southampton at 6am on Sat 9th May. My delivery slot is between 18th-30th May, looking forward to it
Pablo, can you remember how long it took to get a vin number assigned from the first application please?
Its been a week since ordering and nothing has moved forward ..lol.
Am guessing it only moves forward when the factory order is assigned.
May 10, 2026 at 8:11 pm #358816Test drive arranged on Wednesday online booking for today Sunday 10th May
Enjoyed the drive, firm but not uncomfortable ride, very quiet, will take little getting used to with the laptop screen controlling everything near enough, power boot,18″ alloys love the instant torque for ease of overtaking
Ordered after a little chat with the wife,
24 months payment instead of the motability scheme of 26 over the 2 years and £25 per month less so that will pay the insurance
Everything done online and approved within minutes expected delivery August/September our current motability lease ends 4th October
Not sure how much longer this deal will be around for but the Tesla guy was hinting at it may end soon or possibly a sales tactic
But we’re happy with the car and the deal

Selenium greyMay 10, 2026 at 11:16 pm #358820I just cancelled my Model 3 order today.
Its within the 14 day cooling off period.
Like yourself, delivery aug/sept, but the Tesla Service guy pointed to the small print, it says orders delivered by June.
Anyway setup, got to stage 3 and that was Lex Autolease, and it sits at pending and greyed out. I know lease can take a few hours to go through, maybe a few days. But a week later, nothing. So I called Lex Autolease, got through to a rep, took my postcode and said there is no leas application at all and Tesla have not out it through. She suggested contacting Tesla. Which is impossible.
I had heard from a few people that getting the £200 back is very difficult. So plumped for consumer law and the 14 day cooling off period. Txt their rep and emailed the customer service email. Its a pity, it was a good deal. It tells you if the cant get a lease from lex they have another lease firm, and that is Black Horse, and only does pcp, which is £8k deposit…so, no not doing that option.
May 10, 2026 at 11:32 pm #358821Had an email from Lex with Tesla ref number
Also stated application approved
So I’ll be keeping an eye on it

Selenium greyMay 12, 2026 at 8:08 pm #358872The cancellation letter got Teslas attention.
The lease problem is now solved and its gone through.
Back on track for the Model 3 at £217/month for 2 years.
I had typed an answer before, but it had disappeared ..lol.
May 12, 2026 at 8:21 pm #358873Good news
Had all our documents through and signed the deal , eagerly awaiting the vin number etc so tracking can begin along with delivery/collection details
Next step maybe sorting out a charger but we only do low mileage so could cope with public charging and when we visit family in Kent we can take advantage of the Tesla supercharger rates for Teslas
Now where did I put that MAGA cap

May 13, 2026 at 11:22 am #358893Just got to remember its an LFP battery and have to charge to 100% all the time…lol.
May 13, 2026 at 12:23 pm #358895I to have taken the plunge and ordered the model 3 with some lease tweaks to increase the milage allowance to 15000 all done and approved within 15 minutes. It’s has turned my day into a bag of mixed emotions all excited and eagerly awaiting delivery of the new car but sad and disappointed with Motability after nearly twenty years as a customer to be leaving the scheme but the changes are just to much and Motabilitys lack of fight from government and press has made me realise the disabled person’s interest are not their priority.
May 13, 2026 at 8:45 pm #358916Welcome to the Tesla club
The scheme is slowly going the wrong way
If you can manage with the model 3,we will, was a bit apprehensive until we had the test drive and found it okay getting in and out of and the boot space is adequate for the manual wheelchair plus shopping also the rear seats fold down if it extra space is required plus you have a froot/frunk

Selenium greyMay 13, 2026 at 8:56 pm #358917Indeed, I thought the Model 3 would be a pain to get out of…as I had tried my pals one a few years ago.
But the new one is not too bad at all.
All signed off now an just waiting.
The old models were hideous, but the new 2026 Model is Ace.
