Anyone got or had the above (or 13 way version) ? If so was it competent and reliable?
I normally have the Lodgesons but their prices are just ridiculous now. £150 for the Techmobility versus £575 for the Lodgesons 10 way equivalent!!

Sorry I can’t help but I feel for you Bandit as I too have always used Lodgesons remotes, 7 way for myself, and like you I’ve found them a bit expensive and tried to change to something like the Techmobility remote but failed to get any info on it.
I’ve e-mailed them on my last change over in 2022 and got no response and Motability adaptions price portal and the links within are, to my way of thinking and them being for disabled folk, well there nothing less than a disgrace.
I did think about going to a MB roadshow to see what’s about but the most easiest for me to get to, Exeter, did not happen in 2025 for some reason.
Thankfully for myself I managed to find a suitable car this time around that had an AP including the adaption that’s near on a £1k cheaper than my current car so I was able to stick with the Devil I know because as you know Lodgesons are good but expensive.
Sorry I can’t be anymore helpful.
January 7, 2026 at 2:19 pm #326755@ChrisK couldn’t agree more, the links on the adaptions page just go to the general website, not the item in question and that, coupled with the lack of descriptions and info, does indeed make it a disgrace.
Looking around on the Techmobility site I’m pretty sure the one in the top pic on this page is the 9way in question and looks close enough to what I’m used to for me.

January 7, 2026 at 3:57 pm #326770Looking in from the outside, they both look near identical and opting for the cheaper will likely be as good.
From dealing with adaptions for my mum, I found ringing, rather than emailing was by far the best way to get information sent across.
P.S the 9 way Techmobility is the the one at top of page and Bever group 5 or 8 way lollipop stick controls at bottom of page.
January 7, 2026 at 5:01 pm #326779Thanks @kezo , tbh just about all the functions are redundant these days, with all the automated stuff. I kind of use it for indicators on roundabouts and the odd manual main/dip beam and that’s it!
January 13, 2026 at 6:27 pm #332202I spoke to Techmobility today and confirmed the item on the MB adaptation list was the one I thought. The guy said it was designed in-house by a staff member from Cardiff. I said “did he used to work for Lodgesons?” (Jokingly). Turns out yes he did. No wonder it looks so similar!
I’ve gone for one.
January 13, 2026 at 6:36 pm #332203Kinda gives you some confidence, that being cheaper doesn’t exaxtly mean a downgrade!
Though makes you wonder how they got away with it

That’s a great bit of info Bandit, I will keep it in mind for my next change over. Would be great if you come back later in the year and give us a like for like review of the two products, not that there much between them I’m sure.
While were here can I ask if the back light works on your remote, for some reason mine hasn’t worked on my current one or my last one. It’s not important for myself as, like yourself, we use them by touch but was just curious as to why my last two remotes haven’t worked.
January 13, 2026 at 8:44 pm #332207@ChrisK, it does work but like you I don’t use it. It does auto light up sometimes when I turn off and the see me home headlights come on? I’ll mindfully check it out properly and give a better reply.
I’ll also rate the Techmobility version when I’ve got it and had it a while.
January 14, 2026 at 8:52 am #332215I’ve just had an assessment and was recommended the Bever one for £425. I did really like it, but didn’t know there was a cheaper alternative out there!

While I’ve never tried one of those handle type Bever ones, my brain just says no, lol. Tbh I pretty much only use the ball/pad on roundabouts and other similar situations where I know I’m turning/indicating simultaneously.
January 14, 2026 at 10:33 am #332227I’m not a big fan of the lollipop remotes, had one in a hire car when my MB car was off the road for repairs and much prefer having a steering ball.
The Lodgesons and assume the Techmobility ones are adaptable to the users choice of lollipop or steering ball so maybe the Bever is too.
