Hi, looking to change car all being well from our old Renault Captur which is a bit small now for my wife’s needs and am thinking about getting a larger SUV with a panoramic roof which won’t cost the earth in AP.
I know of the Nissan Qashqai, has anyone any experience of this or any other ones Ive missed?

KevinMG have one with a sun roof , not sure which, best to go on MG take details and check it out on Motability, you can get a lot with a sun roof, but you have to pay for it . Example. Vw T-Roc SEL DSG auto £499.00 AP
The problem is you have to pay for sunroof £1165.00 but car was £1799.00 AP last year so still good price

IanfcaWe have a qashqai now, which is our second and we have extended its lease. I know some people don’t like the qashqai but we really like ours. We live in a rural area so do a lot of mileage it has currently done 62,000 miles and is still on its original rear tyres. The car is my wife’s, who has MS and she loves the sunroof, electric seats and the 360 camera. We have had no problems with this car or the one before it. One thing to note though is that the sunroof does not open.

KevinIf you want to go a little larger but not to big,a web page i came across may help, even shows you height from ground , sorry not sunroof help https://www.automobiledimension.com/
March 12, 2021 at 9:55 am #142186
KevinHeight from ground to bottom of body ,which is a big help if you have a problem to enter vehicle,i always go to manufacturers website if any of interest, this will show if sunroof standard , download the brochure and see how much sunroof is,write down model then go back to Motability and see if that model is on the list, seems obvious really, but that many model variations nedds to be checked, but dealer of course will assist hopefully

sifI have found with some manufacturers schematic drawings of every measurement imaginable, presumably done in the design of the car. You can then compare every measure with a car you know you can use. I did this with the present peugeot 3008 and the old model 3008. I found a difference of only 6mm in a crucial measurement, thus enabling me to say with certainty that I could use the car. You could even with the right photoshopping skills overlay one over the other.

MickCAs @DaveW suggests the Ford Kuga St Line X has the electric panoramic sunroof fitted as standard, other marque’s do have them but will want in excess of £1100 fitted as an option.

Mike CooperThe MG ZS EV Exclusive has the opening panoramic sunroof. £299 AP at the moment but there were a couple of dealers offering it at nil deposit this quarter.Have a look on the motaclarity site if this vehicle is of any interest to you.

HeadleyThe Kia Sportage in the top GT Line S trim comes with a panoramic sunroof as standard – bit pricey starting at £1437 for the manual or £2487 for an automtic. Even more if you want 4-wheel drive.
March 12, 2021 at 2:05 pm #142223I have had a number of cars with factory fitted opening sun roofs, some metal, some glass but the panoramic sunroof on the Qashqai was my first panoramic sunroof , ( it was an excellent car btw) and I now have an opening panoramic sunroof on the Tiguan.
I wouldn’t be without one frankly , good luck with your search

Clipped wingsMy Allspace SEL has one as standard. Hopefully temporarily off the scheme. Not checked, but current Tiguan SEL has one?

Clipped wingsSorry, Mike. Posts crossed again.

Sir LimpalotHi folks,
Tiguan Elegance has a Panoramic sliding roof as standard, I ordered mine last week 🙂
Regards
March 12, 2021 at 3:55 pm #142230Sorry, Mike. Posts crossed again.
no worries, if the Allspace was back on the scheme, I would seriously consider it, but I am happy to take a further 2 years on the existing car, which I think is excellent- apart from the Qashqai before the Tiguan, I had 2 XC60 R Design Volvos, a V60 , an XC90 7 seater and an XC70 with 2 extra seats in the boot, all top of the range, and after driving over 300,000 miles in these, I still give the Tiguan ‘ full marks’!

TheSUVGuyThe allspace is on the scheme, it was removed briefly, or am I missing something?
March 12, 2021 at 7:15 pm #142241
Clipped wingsIt went for Q1 – not sure why. Mine took 7 months so maybe supply issues or will also soon get the Tiguan facelift? Have only racked up 225 miles in 6 weeks. Frustrating. Forgot SEL is now Elegance. Paid for the pana roof on previous Touran SEL, like Mike700, wouldn’t want to be without one.
March 12, 2021 at 7:20 pm #142243No you are not missing anything or going mad TheSUVGuy.
The Allspace is still on the scheme. Four Diesels and three Petrol versions.

DanteThe MG HS in exclusive trim (auto £999 AP) has a large and opening panoramic sunroof
It’d seem opening sunroofs are less standard now and emerging more as options or with in additional ‘packs’
March 16, 2021 at 9:32 am #142555Thanks for all of your replies, I mean it, lot to work through there but its opened my eyes at the possibilities.
April 29, 2021 at 8:49 am #146957Panoramic roof is a £1000 extra (subject to negotiation) on both the BMW X1 and Volvo XC40. I know this because MrsW wants one on our next car!

sifWigwam, my wife feels the same, though she did say that it was down to the interior. If it felt dark and had dark colors inside she needed a sunroof, if it was light inside and felt airy, that was not necessary. Maybe your better half is the same. Isn’t the Volvo bigger inside that the X1? with more choice of interiors? Happy wife, unhappy wife, what’s your pain threshold?
April 29, 2021 at 10:47 am #146978
RichardThe MG ZS EV exclusive is now £199 like the Kona is a bargain at that price.
April 29, 2021 at 11:59 am #146987@Wigwam you should be able to get 20% off the price of BMW extras at most of their dealers.
April 29, 2021 at 1:42 pm #146993Yes Elliot. £500 off the AP at my local dealer too.
April 29, 2021 at 2:10 pm #146996
