Anyone noticed the latest app update for the Enyaq has taken away the ability to remotely open the car using the app?

Working for me. Just tried it and all is good on my end. App last updated at the end of March.
Enyaq sportline plus 85x of that makes any difference.
May 2, 2026 at 5:13 pm #354599I’m on app version 8.11.0 and door locking is there. What version of app are you on?

May 2, 2026 at 5:20 pm #354600Yep I’m on the same 8.11.0. The unlock symbol has disappeared. It’s a late 2”24 model, the lock and unlock icons were there last month as I used them.

May 2, 2026 at 5:33 pm #354601It should be there, just found something the interweb that says it’s on cars with software v5 and above, ours is on v5.4.4.

May 2, 2026 at 6:01 pm #354604Official is 352, I’d say short journeys were getting 320.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Motability VW Touran Family Pack May 2019 (happy customer)May 2, 2026 at 9:01 pm #354617I do in the Winter months as range is pretty poor, usually 170-190, physically bending and feeding the charge cable into the Kerbocharge gully is difficult/painful in the Winter. Also I have to step over my small garden fence (about 40cm) to get to the charger, and then over it again onto the path into the front door. My mobility to pain ratio drops rapidly in the cold!!.
21c today and a 100% charge only gave me 257 miles on the guess-o-meter. Long term average is still reading 3.7 but I mainly do short journeys around 10 to 20 miles max round trip. I did have a monthly drive of 120 round trip but that’s not happening at the moment.

It only updates through driving – if the last drive was in the cold, short and otherwise inefficient, it’ll use that “formula” to tell you your range, as in, a low number.
The GoM doesn’t actually take temperature into account, just your average consumption. Which is lower in the summer, but you need to drive it a bit to get it to show.
The m/kwh-o-meter is more indicative, since that is an immediate indicator.
Electric cars are a bit like diesels in that regard, short journeys are actually not particularly great with EVs in terms of efficiency (when it’s cold), it just doesn’t matter as much because charging is so much cheaper. Enyaqs heat the battery below a certain temperature, so short journeys lead to the journey ending just when you spent enough electricity to bring the battery to operating temperature.
We drove around 70ish miles two days ago, averaging 4.3m/kwh, which would give me around 320 miles on a full charge (74kwh usable battery) – which is pretty much as advertised. Over the winter months, on shorter journeys (10-20 miles), we got around 3.6-3.8 m/kwh, leading to a range of 266-280 miles.

many thanks for that information on the motorway in an EV do you see a big difference in range between 60 mph and 70 mph ?
May 3, 2026 at 8:52 am #354630many thanks for that information on the motorway in an EV do you see a big difference in range between 60 mph and 70 mph ?
Yeah. Consumption doesn’t rise linear with the speed either, but exponentially. As in, if you get 300 miles range at 60 (numbers made up), you’ll get 270 at 70 – and 210 at 80. These numbers are a bit exaggerated, i don’t have precise numbers because i tend to not drive 60 on the motorway.
At “my” motorway speeds (slightly above 70) i get around 270ish miles range. We just accept the drop, 270 miles on the motorway is more than the range of my bladder – at rest stops we just plug in when we use the rest rooms, extending the range (without charge-specific waiting times, we’d be parked with an ICE the same amount of time). Leads to around 400+ miles range before having to actually stop and charge for 45-60 minutes.
For the vast majority of journeys, that’s enough for us to reach where we need to go, plug it in at the destination etc.

@menorca mike
Mike, i seem to remember you dod not get a good response from your housing assocn last time you requested an ev charger, it was a few years ago.
Maybe try again? They may have updated their policies from a few years ago. You have nothing to lose.

yes that was over 2 years ago we now have a new scheme manager and a new company they tell me I will be able to have a charger now ! I can order December but will test drive in the summer our bungalows are leasehold we have bought them we pay a monthly maintenance for on call system gardeners etc the cable from my charger would be just 6 feet

Mike, your looking too deep, to the extent of going down the rabbit hole when there no need to.
Most of your journeys are local with one (maybe 2) return trips to see your partner approx 70-75 miles away, so you need to be looking at an EV, with a winter motorway range that comfortably exceeds 150 miles, as the worst case. In summer the range will be much higher.

May 3, 2026 at 8:24 pm #354647I’m not too bothered about driving 60mph on motorways. I tend to just relax and let the ProPilot do the main work.
On A-roads, I tend to use ECO and regen to slow, upon reading the road ahead. Only using the brake to actually come to a stop.
I’ve generally become a more relaxed driver now. Unless, I’ve set off late to pick up my daughter from school. If she does successfully start her reduced timetable for school reintegration (ASC issues).
I have ASD and thus have difficulty with social and understanding information, written and verbal. I process information in logical blocks, before I reply. Sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong.
I also have a corneal visual condition, which makes me visually impaired without daytime, or daytime bulbs, among other disabilities/conditions.May 4, 2026 at 2:37 pm #354658@jojoe Has your app corrected itself or is it still showing up without the unlock button?
May 4, 2026 at 3:25 pm #354659@jamie1c It’s still the same, we’ve emailed ŠKODA support, I’ll leave an update when we get a response.
