We are writing to inform you that we are planning a consultation to understand how our charitable grant programmes continue to best support those who need them most. To help with this, we intend to share limited contact details only with Open Inclusion, an independent research company that will contact some Motability Scheme customers on our behalf to invite them to take part.
Has anyone else received this email recently? I have just noticed I have it since yesterday and instantly sent an email to DataProtectionOfficer@motabilityfoundation.org.uk requesting not to share any of my PII (Personally Identifiable Information) as well as to explain why there is an intent to share personal data with external parties without prior consent, as it goes against GDPR rules.
Just in case some of you would like to opt out too. I appreciate it says down the letter you can “unsubscribe” , but legally in my understanding it means nothing.
Dear Motability Operations,
I do not consent to my personal data being shared with any external organisation, including Open Inclusion.
Please confirm why my contact details are being considered for sharing without my prior written consent, as this appears to be inconsistent with UK GDPR principles regarding lawful basis, transparency, and data minimisation.
I request written confirmation that my personal information will not be disclosed to any third party for the purposes outlined in your email.
