Hi everyone,

If you’re currently in a medical review from the DVLA you are classed as under section 88, a medical also includes awaiting new codes for medical reasons and awaiting a motability vehicle, you will need another nominated driver to come with you to pick up the vehicle as you are required to present your drivers license. You can still drive the car as long as you submitted beforehand.

You must also let direct line know as well once you get your car and also let them know the result.

I was driving under section 88 for 6 months during Covid due to the backlog. My last medical license took around 8 weeks from me sending details to the new license arriving. It’s a real pain in the arse but at least it’s only every 3 years.
