ajnWould anyone be interested in a seasonal new growth/ new life pics thread as we soon enter Spring ?????????..
Basically when out the garden or out and about take a snap of anything new in its life such as plant life blossom, maybe birds chicks being fed or any wild life for example..

Great idea ajn.
I will be a regular contributor, because I’m having to learn about my new garden. I only moved into my house in late July last year, so I’m in for a whole load of surprises this Spring.
My plan is …. I’ll post a photo and you guys and gals can give me some tips on how to keep whatever plant or shrub it is …. alive! ?

ajnI just think after the times we’ve gone through lately new life/growth could bring fresh frame of mind and thought, also this can even be done on a window sill if need be, such as herbs..
Maybe..
Not to much into full on gardening stuff Pops, but I have a go..
Anyway see if there’s any interest, if not delete the post..
Just giving off topic a heads up for interest before anywhere else ?
February 13, 2022 at 6:31 pm #177245Great idea ajn?

found fallen the dried out sunflower head from last year, my Son picked from between gravel over soil, to the side of a grow bag in the green house..February 13, 2022 at 8:56 pm #177255Was just about to leap in and bring up the subject of sunflowers. You beat me to it! Had to wait anyway before reply because the snooker is well interesting. Neil Robertson vs Barry Hawkins in final of the Players Championship. Hawkins 1 – 5 down at one point. Clawed it back to 5 – 7. Brilliant snooker from both of them.
Will try me best to put some stuff in this bit about garden and stuff. ??

ajnThis thread I feel could suit us Tharg, as I remember your hanging baskets plants, Lou, Tilly and the pears ?..
We enjoyed the growing side of the sunflower thread.. (even though it was a sort remembrance thread).
I still have Sunflower seeds, Mrs ajn loved having almost a wall of sunflowers last year so hopefully get some this year too..???
However this thread can be of any sort of new life/growth, even the time line of a local tree outside from a window for anyone spending time inside due to a limiting condition, if pics are a problem just a few words of anything noticed coming to life..
I missed the ??????⚪️?, had a few things on lately..
Lots of time to plan, or even or decide what might be an input if interested posting…

So not new life, however here we have a Heron been snapping off sticks & taking them, and a Magpie ripping up grass for the soft mud, Mrs ajn informs me these build nests early, lay eggs early in time to steal other eggs, chicks to feed their early brood..Guess its just nature, but crafty..

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.February 14, 2022 at 4:35 pm #177382Snowdrops are yomping along. Daffs pushing through, particularly an unusual variety called Avalanche in front garden which always gets comments/questions from passers-by. Snaps to follow when it is dry and sunny enough to take ’em.
Seen magpies bouncing about with nesting stuff. Thankfully they are not building in my garden this year. Very noisy, aggressive parents and very stupid fledglings who have not heard of the word “predator” and consider windows as things to fly into at rate of knots.

February 16, 2022 at 4:39 pm #177627Just to remind us guys and gals that sunny days and the growing season is coming soon. Hang on in there. ?
This is a pic of my upper garden just below the patio. I may have posted it before but I love it, lol.
