I’ve got an old XBox 360 that I want to give to the charity shop, I’ve not used it in years but my personal details are still on it. I’ve read online that you go into settings and there’s an option to reset to factory, problem is, it’s not there. Anyone got any suggestions?

July 9, 2025 at 2:11 pm #308085@kezo. Tried both but the menu isn’t the same, the options aren’t there. I think it’s because the 360 is sold old it’s been updated many times. I’ve removed my login and deleted saved games and media but I just can’t see a way to reset to factory settings. Think I’m just going to have to give it the charity shop as is, I can’t see any of my stuff on it anymore.
July 9, 2025 at 2:15 pm #308086Ignore the last, I’ve just gone in and tried again, it did work this time, I missed pressing the Y button. It gave me the option to format the drive. Job done data deleted. Cheers Kezo.
July 9, 2025 at 6:54 pm #309363Twas mrs kezo that got it right, as we still have our 360 and my Atari 64 for a good game classic space invaders now and again lol
July 11, 2025 at 9:35 am #309423Atari, I had the old one with the wooden front panel. I remember tank command. Mrs Joe bought me an Atari joystick 🕹️ about 10 years ago, it has all the classic games on it.
July 11, 2025 at 10:16 am #309424Atari 2600 (1977), the 64 was the Atari & commodore computers. As a young kid before the Atari, we had Binatone pong game console lol.
July 11, 2025 at 11:04 am #309425I’m going to have dig out my Atari joystick and have a game of Tank Commander. No idea where it is, probably turn the house upside down and still not find it. Asteroids was another one I remember.
July 11, 2025 at 12:05 pm #309426There are loads of games beyond the c40 Atari made, inc those by authorised 3rd parties and later hombrew emulators. Atari & game developer Playon ? launched the Atari 2600+ in 2023, as a modern day recreation of the old console lol.
I must have around 40 odd games inc chess, backgammon, battleships, space invaders, asteroid & pack man.
2600+ official launch
July 11, 2025 at 3:50 pm #309430Back in the day ….. (old folk tale coming) when I was at college my friend and I both build a pong machine from an electronics magazine project (Elektor paossibly?), hardware based with no processor/game chip we had some fun trying to get them to work but got there eventually.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
July 11, 2025 at 6:28 pm #309437Elektor
Published in the 7th issue of Elektor in november 1975 and featured a Tennis game in its simplest form: two paddles and a ball. The design used 13 TTL chips (74xx series) in analog mode. Later in 1976, Elektor published several improvements in issues 11 and 13.

July 11, 2025 at 7:05 pm #309438This is what Mrs Joe got me for Christmas 12 years ago. We didn’t have lunch till 6pm that year as I was too busy playing with it. Still got it.
July 11, 2025 at 8:02 pm #309440Mine certainly wasn’t digital back then and now feel like Ive missed out on life 😂 Twas a 70’s mini Scalextric set and if I remember come with rally Mini’s. Like most of my old stuff (lego, mechano, train set, corgi cars etc) were left up my mums for future generations and my kids enjoyed hours playing with them along with brothers, not sure about current generation, but know my nephew enjoys plaing with the toy cars.
I kept everything as a reminder I guess, even the Eagle from Space 1999 lol,
