Found this review by Petrol Ped, the Kia PV5 electric van, it’s the one Motability and Kia are collaborating on to have a Kia factory made WAV. The base model is under £30,000 with the long range around £38,000, that’s £30,000 cheaper than the VW ID Buzz!

Interesting proposition and whils’t not quite as fancy as the Buzz, at £30k cheaper, it will be popular. I have become to like alot of Thomas’s (Autogefuel) reviews and Electritying have compared it to the Buzz.

See the side by side comparison with the Buzz, you’d be crazy to spend £30k more on the VW.

I watch a lot of van life creators on YouTube and at £30k I can see this be very popular for a basic conversion, especially with the 3 pin V2L plug socket.

In the first video by Thomas he went through the various seating layouts (wheelchair) and showed a different interior colour, which I understand there are a few along with electric rear doors which will be popular in europe, if when Kia brings them.

Yes you can’t do alot with £30k and make it into a nice van if one wanted and good first impressions by Kia, I’d have one if the range was that little bit better!

Looking at a few videos they all compare it to the Buzz but, and it’s a big one, whilst the specs vary slightly the build quality and materials vary hugely.  The Buzz, reportedly, is a significantly better built vehicle in terms of materials choices, seating, etc.

That all said, a factory standard wheelchair accessible van would be a game changer, with the fact it’s a decent range BEV just an added bonus.  Side entry is, apparently, more of a challenge for wheelchair access but that all depends upon how KIA built ramps.

I would hope so for what is essentially £30k more however, just think what a custom pimp my ride shop could do with that £30k, to make it better and exclusive compared to the Buzz!

Looks like advance details to be formally announced soon?

The Park Motor Group in Scotland is advertising the KIA PV5 on Motability for £2999 AP for the Essential trim or £4999 for the Plus Trim.

Motaclarity have it at those APs too.  I’m not sure how useful a 5 seater is with so much space between front and rear seats.
