Happy New Year to you all.
Just to confirm that further to my offer message for Q4 we are continuing our savings on the AP for SEAT and Skoda for Q1 registrations.
Skoda availability is very limited for Q1 now with a lot of sales coming from stock vehicles. Therefore is is unlikely we can offer Kodiaqs for example in Q1. However we should get further confirmation from the factory tomorrow on this.
SEAT we have good availability still for factory orders in Q1. The cut off date for most models to have the best chance of March delivery is 15th January currently.

It seems strange that we are constantly being told that dealers do not have any margins in motability vehicles, yet BMW & Mini dealers seem to have a regular £500/£250 discount. Can’t help thinking that these amounts have been built into the AP figures just so they can offer a discount

They aren’t built into the AP’s. Only a relatively small number of BMW dealerships offer the discounts. Whilst it is true that dealers get a fixed fee (around £250 per car from memory) for each Motability order, that is only part of the story. Motability orders still count towards their dealership / group and manufacturer bonus targets and can therefore make a significant difference to their income. Never believe a car dealer who says or implies that they don’t make any money out of Motability orders. It’s nonsense and done deliberately to dissuade people from asking for any discount off the AP or optional extras. Dealers offering these discounts still make a tidy sum on Motability orders. They wouldn’t offer them if they didn’t.
They do 9nly get a set fee but basically dealers are set quotas if they sell so many cars per quarter they get so much percentage of the sale back, meet the quota the percentage is larger.
For those up in Scotland, Frasers of Falkirk & Edinburgh have updated their website and are again offering £299 off the AP on the MG ZS Electric Exclusive:

Thanks BigDave. It’s a shame that the prices that they show for each car are the standard Motability AP prices. Interesting that they say ‘up to’ £500 AP contribution. I guess they want people to engage in a conversation with them before revealing what the ‘actual’ deal per car is?

As with everything, a degree of ‘caveat emptor’ applies, but I am sure most people on this forum would do their homework and know about the offers/discounts other BMW/Mini dealers in the area are offering.
In fact, there is so much competition amongst BMW and Mini dealers in South/South-East England, that I don’t think they would put up much resistance if it is pointed out to them what Marshall, Partridges etc are offering.
It is just a shame that the BMW/Mini offers currently seem to be concentrated in south/south east England (other than possibly Peter Vardy BMW in Edinburgh but I am not sure if the offer on their webpage is still current or not as there are no dates associated with the offer, hence I haven’t posted it).

Living in Gloucestershire, none of my local BMW dealerships are offering the discounts, but as you say I would request that they match them. If not, I would take a 45 minute drive to Bridgwater where Westerley BMW are offering them. I did this with our current VW. No deals locally so drove 75 mins to Marshalls at Didcot where I got £500 off.
