with all the wait times due to covid and semiconductor shortage you would think notability would let us keep the car we have’ I am happy with my vw it’s getting on 4 years old now as I got an extension so I enquired about keeping it and they want top dollar for it and won’t extend  it anymore it’s a shame really as Im not in the position to give a lump sum to notability £11000+.

If extending a lease, it’s always best to extend to 5 years. You can order a new car at any time between the 3 and 5 years, so there is nothing whatsoever to be gained by only extending to 4 years especially if, at the 4 year point, they won’t let you extend for the 5th year. I guess it would have been helpful if they had explained that to you when you elected to only extend the lease by a year.

I’m surprised they won’t give you a further extension to 5 years. They did for us, and then an extra 6 months Covid allowance, so we ended up having the car for 5 and a half years!

Will a wheel chair with fold down handles fit into the boot of a Leon, Kona EV or ID.3?

We’ve extended by another 12 months but I didn’t realise they could do 24 months. Nothing has really appealed to us this quarter but we have until May 2021 to give the car back so could wait for the next lot of prices.

Wish I had asked for a 2 year extension now as it would save paying for another AP.

It’s not too late I’m sure just ring them and ask to keep the car another 12 months.
you also then get £900 back good condition bonus after 5 years.

If you’ve ordered something else you can cancel at anytime before you enter the PIN number on collection day.

Where have the Tiguan’s and Allspace gone?

I’ve heard that Peter, Paul and Mary are to re-release “Where Have All the Flower Gone” but renaming it “Where Have All the Tiguans Gone”

    😁

They’ve gone from the Vw price list too, the only car I was interested in was the allspace.
I see the APs on the tourans the only other large vehicle they currently list have gone bonkers.

I noticed this morning while looking at the big event online this morning,  i was a little disappointed with the hole thing tbh can’t really see the point of going ahead with it virtually.
    Anyone else?

    @Philjb

My thoughts are the same Phil with the online Big Event as the events are the only place I can test drive adapted cars although I’d be lucky if such a car was one I’d be interested in, so exactly how do you test drive a car online.

Same goes for the adaption as I was hoping to go to an event to check out some of the remote controls I have to use because Lodgesons are so expensive I wanted to see if the cheaper ones were any good and the online links to adaption providers on the Motability site leave a lot to be desired with the exception of Lodgesons so maybe that’s why there more expensive.

Wait to see the news in September on how successful the online Big Event has been.😀

My friend went to look the new Honda  cxv she doesn’t really know much about cars so I’d pre warned her not to be taken in by the sales persons gumf any she told me she liked the car but they only had the top spec which isn’t on the scheme.
So he went off for a few minutes, when he came back he said he could get her the model she wanted but to be quick and pay upfront as he only had 27 in stock and they go quick. lol

A bit a Tiguan news, they have now launched the PHEV version in the UK.

As I’m sure some of you are aware I‘ ve been doing a lot of research of the Ford Kuga Hybrid as a sub for the Tigger but having made another visit to the Ford showroom last Saturday I’ve decided to sit back on the fence for now because of to many uncertainties for me regards scooter space.

Now with the Tiguan PHEV arriving, be it not on Motability yet, I think I will wait a bit longer to see what gives.

Retail price for the Elegance trim is coming in about £4,000 grand above the 1.5 TSi DSG version so while I play the waiting game I can save a few more pennies for the PHEV… I hope.

I wouldn’t worry, I am convinced that the Tiguan PHEV will come on to Motability. It might not be until next year, but I’m sure that it will eventually arrive on the scheme. The PHEV is actually slightly cheaper than the 190PS 2.0i petrol version that was on the scheme prior to the temporary withdrawal and it will have better residual values. For what it’s worth, if you had your heart set on the Tiguan I think you are wise to sit tight and wait for it to appear.

Possible good news for the future?

The Skoda Enyaq EV is a car that has caught my eye of late least of all because its an electric car with big boot that isn’t derived from a van so yesterday I downloaded the brochure for the car and although I maybe dreaming thought what’s the possibility of this one turning up on Motability once the dust has settled on the shortages.

It’s the only EV that isn’t a van to turn up in the market that’s able to fit my needs of carrying an assemble pavement scooter with hoist.

Anyway on the last page of the brochure this appears and I quote.

“Motability People who are in receipt of one of the following allowances, and have at least 12 months remaining on their reward, may be eligible for a vehicle via the Motability scheme. Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC of DLA), Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC of PIP), War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP). For full details of the scheme, current model availability and pricing, please contact the Motability specialist at your local ŠKODA Retailer.”

This brochure is for the EV only version so looks promising and I’ve put this in the “Q3 News and Prices” topic because if we do see it it will more than likely be Q3 2022.😁

Kia Niro Self charging hybrid “2”

    £199 advance payment

I’m limited to AP by GCB. I wasn’t ready for EV this time, and am used to the MPG of a diesel. Very impressed with MPG (64 mpg) over last 10 days, better than previous diesel. The spec. on the entry model is great, no heated seats, but over £1000 for “3” model wasn’t possible. Purchased twin heated seat covers from Amazon for £20. Comfortable ride, both driver and passenger seats adjustable as standard. My son says back seats are most comfortable we’ve ever had.  Apple car play as standard, so satnav sorted. Good sized boot. Auto headlights and wipers as standard. Drives well in eco mode, but flies in sport mode, if needed, but affects MPG as you would expect.

Overall very impressed, but would have  looked at the Hyundai Kona if AP was lower in Q2( prefer the look).
