I had to use the Conti Tyre gloop this morning for a puncture. I’m booked in with Kwik FIt to have the tyre replaced ( I assume they replace the tyre and don’t plug it?).

Who replaces the kit (bottle and air lead). Can Kwik Fit replace it or do I have to undertake a road trip to see my dealer?

This happened to me, I don’t think they can repair the tyre if the gunk kit has been used. For me Kwik fit replaced the tyre but did not mention replacing the gunk and I did not ask, however I think I’ve read on here that they will replace the gunk if you ask so it’s best to ask. Mine was replaced by the dealer and motability paid.

Why do you need the air lead replacing? For me it was just a bottle of gunk,

The bottle wont come off, and the gloop goes of in the air lead, so you replace the two together. From 3:28 on.

Okay, ours isn’t like that. It’s best seeing what Kwik fit say, in the first instance.

Im surprised mb don’t make you pay for restocking the tyre, restocking the gloop and air tube, then charge you for them separately and of course don’t forget the vat!!

Ditto (although several years ago): Kwik Fit replaced the tyre and the dealer gave me a new kit for free – he didn’t even report it to Motability.
