My daughter was asking about my mum and dad etc. (both deceased), as I had two older step brothers I told her about my mums first husband who died in WWII. She never knew where (or even if) he was buried as he was blown up difussing a minefield, She had a vague idea of the name of the place somewhere in North Africa but we couldn’t find it.
I was listening to one of Spike Milligan’s audio books and he mentioned a place called Medjez-El Bab in Tunisia, that sounded very much like what my mum thought it was called. A bit of internet digging and I found out he’s buried in the war cemetery there. Sapper Edwin Fritiof Rasmussen (his parents were Norwegian). It’s a beautiful place, I wish I could have found this for her while she was alive.
