What is the mileage of your PHEV when the battery is flat?  Also, how good is it at self-charging when the battery goes flat, for example, does it only self-charge about 10% or more, or less?

I am not interested in the mileage when the battery is charged.

I am concerned about motorway driving and having a PHEV, I do a mix of driving but more local than motorway, so if the PHEV could do over 30mpg on the petrol engine on the motorway when the battery is flat then that might be sufficient if I am getting “free” miles when I drive locally with a charged battery.

      Thank you 🙂

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV using just the ICE @ 70 mph 36mpg, @ 60 approximately 40mpg @ 55mph we are see just over 42/43mpg regardless of the weather with or without the heating on.

The Outlander PHEV using ICE above 40/45mph the PHEV engages direct drive and excess energy can be used to regenerate the batteries, on the motorway I use the SAVE/ or CHARGE mode.

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

@Oscarmax – thanks for the stats, I remember seeing them before now!  This ties in roughly with a YouTube reviewer who said he was getting 40-45mpg on average if he didn’t charge – which is really good – and I think that was on the pre-2020 model.

I am sooooooooooo temped by the Outlander PHEV Dynamic Safety (I didn’t realise that the Safety pack added LED lights which is even more tempting).

This month I have recorded 473 miles, I have used 155.4kWh (some free Tesco) £7.56 equivalent to 353mpg, I have used no petrol for the last 6/7 weeks, I will have to top up the middle of May as we are towing the caravan. We achieve 28.5mpg towing a 1500kg caravan and a fully loaded car.

I would love the Dynamic Safety, our is only the Design

@Oscarmax – is your PHEV the 2.0L or 2.4L engine?

Which Led lights? not headlights? according to the Mitubishi website they’re only on the Exceed or Exceed Safety?

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Ran out of time to edit.

It’s only the DRLs which is a shame as one of the things I like about my Ateca are the Led headlights (and the remote tail gate). The Outlander was simply too expensive when I had to choose at very short notice last July when Motability re-opened.  Given my size (6′ 5″) and mobility problems it would have been a better choice.
