      Hi all,

I placed an order for an Omada 5 Noble petrol end of last month to take advantage of their £350 off advance payment. The original price was £999 and now £649. They mentioned that I was entitled to a new vehicle bonus of £750, they stated I can use it towards the advance payment but at the price of £999, I asked if it was possible that if I could just pay the £649 advance payment on collection and recieve the £750 new vehicle payment via cheque afterwards to which they stated “we can try this”.

The price has now updated to £499 for the Omada 5 Noble petrol so I tried cancelling my order today as it would make sense to go to a closer branch if it’s £499 everywhere. Aylesbury then stated that they can still honour the £350 discount and update the order form to £499 so I only pay £149 on collection day. They reiterated the new vehicle payment of £750 can be sent via cheque after collecting the car.

      So are my calculations correct:

      Local £499 – £750 = +£251 (sent to me via cheque)

Aylesbury £499 – £350 = £149 (paid on collection) [£750 sent to me via cheque]

Please advise as I’m not sure how the new vehicle payment works and if it’s better to stick to local branch.

      Thanks in advance

      Gec

Ring Motability and ask if you can have the £750 paid into your bank via your online account (if you have one) or if it can be paid by check, rather than being put towards the vehicles AP as you will sort that yourself.

Kezo’s correct, you can choose to pay the NCP/NVP of £750 towards your AP, or paid directly to yourself. Just inform Motability so the dealer doesn’t assume to want to use it.

Also double check to make sure that the current dealer giving the discount, has actually changed the order to this quarter. I know some might promise the earth, but do absolutely nothing.

            Thanks for the responses

Yes, I am planning to get it in writing from the dealer that they will honour the £350 discount so I only pay £149 and that they send the updated quarter order form.

I will ask motability to confirm if the full £750 NVP can definitely be sent to me.

Are motability usually aware that certain dealerships have discounts? And is it worth mentioning the £350 discount when I call motability?

Only reason being, the dealer said he could not use the NVP towards the discounted price but the full price only, and stated we can try and get the cheque 2 weeks after the picking up the car.

            Thanks in advance

Motability won’t be concerned with dealer discounts.
Motability will only go off their own AP. They don’t even like you cancelling and reordering the same vehicle because it’s cheaper in the next quarter.

Any dealer discounts are solely dealer specific, and nothing to do with Motability.

Motability are aware, though its not something they endorse, though your simply asking a question re the £750 and there’s no ned to go into the nitty gritty.
