BigDave your in overdrive ?
Typically, it is my day off and it is absolutely pouring down, with a really low cloud base bordering on fog here.
Plus the wife has gone off for a girly weekend at the health farm with her girly friends.
Hence my idly playing on the web!

October 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm #92615If you can order reasonably quickly, up until 31st October 2019, Halliwell Jones BMW in the North West (Southport, Chester, Warrington, Llandudno, Wilmslow) are offering a BMW Automatic AP for the price of a manual AP on the new 1 Series, 2 Series, X1 and X2:

brydoDave I can’t believe there has been no response to this deal, maybe it needs to be posted as a stand alone thread.
October 21, 2019 at 3:05 pm #92633Brydo the X1 and X2 manuals are the 1.5 petrol and the automatics 2.0 litre – so not sure how the upgrade would work out, same with the active tourer, £500 bonus for the 218i Grand Tourer and 2 series and £250 on the 1 Series.
Bit of a complicated way to make an offer. BMW Pricing here: http://www.whichmobilitycar.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/BMW-Q4-2019.pdf

Indeed it is a very odd offer.
Particularly as in many cases, there isn’t a straight forward manual to automatic, ie with the same engine etc.
Also, if one takes the offer at face value as they describe it:
This October we are offering a Complimentary Upgrade to Automatic if you order your next Motability car before 31 October 2019.
It actually gets quite ‘messy’ where one orders for example a
1 Series 118i m Sport 5 door.
Before the offer – the manual has an AP of £159.09
but one would receive the auto version with an AP of only £136.84 – ie the Auto AP is less than the manual AP due to the difference between ‘fixed monthly payments’ and ‘Total Allowance’!
How Motability could then account for that based on the actual ordered VTN number of the Automatic is anybody’s guess.

BrydoAnd we think Brexit is complicated lol.
October 21, 2019 at 5:07 pm #92652And we think Brexit is complicated lol.
I suppose it is a case of ‘if the offer works for you then great’.
I know dealers like to be somewhat ‘inventive’ in their offers to attract customers, but this one overly complicates matters in a lot of cases, particularly where there is no direct correlation between the manual and automatic versions of the same car, or in the case I posted above.
A simple ‘cashback’ offer would have been better.
Perhaps we can have a cashback offer on Brexit!

Hence the word ‘selected’ as opposed to ‘all’ and the link posted.
As with all offers, it may work well for some people, others not so.
October 22, 2019 at 9:04 am #92754Agreed. I have spent years chasing up offers to be told, stock only, that car gone, website out of date etc
I’m just an old cynic. Yesterday I had a chat with Marshall’s for their £100 cash back and it would not be confirmed to me that the offer existed unless I told them the model I was after and I spoke directly to the Motability specialist to see if the offer applied to that specific car.
You are doing fantastic work bringing these offers to the forum bigdave and I thank you.
October 23, 2019 at 10:20 am #92936We have amalgamated a lot of the deals into one page, along with a few tips:
October 23, 2019 at 10:36 am #92940
Anonymous10% cashback on advance payment on XC40 orders up until 31st october at Waylands Volvo Oxford. (paid on delivery)
October 23, 2019 at 3:25 pm #92983If you can get ordered by the end of October, then Yeomans Nissan are offering £100 cashback with every Nissan Motability vehicle ordered before 31st October 2019:
Branches in Bognor Regis, Eastbourne, Worthing and Portsmouth.
October 23, 2019 at 11:48 pm #93028No idea if it’d be something they’d do over and over, but when I mentioned the JCT offer, Lookers VW in Newcastle gave me £250 off of a Tiguan R-Line. It isn’t the £500 that JCT offer but for me, it made sense – would probably have cost me close to £100 in diesel for 2 trips down there and back, plus 10-12 hours on the road all together so I went with the lower amount – with my MS that kind of drive is possible but would wipe me out for the rest of the day at best, I figure 2 usable days of my life instead of the extra £150 in my pocket was a decent trade-off 🙂
