My fixed price intelligent electricity with Octopus is coming to an end. Just been offered new price. 25% increase. Called them to explain reason for this. They could not answer. I know electricity has gone up but 25% is just profiteering.

I am with E.On this year.  Left Octopus back in May 2025. E.On EV tariff is 7p at night for 7 hours.

Although I think someone advised on this forum that E.On cut the time from 7 to 5 hours only for new customers.

I am registered with Octopus as a vulnerable customer, on the 10th April my Octopus Go fixed is coming to an end, they emailed the other day stating my Octopus Go fixed will be renewed automatically for 12 months on 1oth April.

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

Checked E.ON they are 32 pence daytime and 9 pence night time charging. Octopus are 34 pence daytime and 8 pence night time. Still octopus is a big jump from 26 pence and 7 pence they are currently charging me. So at the end of the day looks like I will stay with Octopus. One other point Octopus are only doing 6 months fixed rate, they have dropped yearly price fixing.

That’s terrible! Mine is due to renewal towards end of May. Will be interesting, I am sure.

If are registered with octopus as a vunerble person email them and they will give you a 12 month fixed rate, gas and electric prices have dropped back a bit today.

We are on the standard Octopus Go fixed rate 8.5p/kWh and 26.81p/kWh our new rate is 9.5p/kWh and 33.6p/kWh. Our PHEV uses 1693 kWh per year so an increase of £16.93, we only import 266.38 kWh peak rate increase of £18.09 total increase of £35.02 per year, not sure if we get a discount in April.
